Nice clean spacious. Friendly staff. Not keen on key board food ordering system especially when there is friendly staff willing to help you use it. I would have just preferred to give them an order. We had cheese and ham toasties and coffee which were delicious.

Very disappointed. I used to love this cafe as a good stop on long journeys and used to recommend it to friends. Since it’s recent makeover the quality is now poor and the prices have increased. For example our two coffees and two baps came to £21 and consisted of very small coffee cups, stale bread, only two small pieces of bacon and a horrible sauce we did not ask for. I really hope they take this review onboard as we would love to see this stop go back to its former glory. Also please bring back the healthy snacks and water station. It was these small differences that had us stopping here.

Made an emergency break here (look , I'm old, ok?!) Toilets were spotless and very well maintained. Didn't take in much of the other facilities apart from "Damn fine coffee!" and cappuchino cake that was light and tasted of coffee. Very clean, with well spaced tables/seating area, Easy touch screen ordering and fast service from friendly people. Loved it.

Visited the Hog & Hedge on Saturday. It's a really nice of place to grab a bite to eat and a cuppa and recharge the batteries while on a long journey. It was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. This kind of venu makes a nice change to the normal service's.

A great place to stop for a break on a long journey. This is so much better than the usual services. The food and drinks are tasty and there is a baby changing room, a play area and plentiful comfortable seating. The bathrooms were clean and even had fresh flowers.

Stopped here in the way home from Cornwall for breakfast. Good food, all very fresh, much better than motorway services. Excellent croissants, good breakfast muffins. Nice coffee, not expensive. Friendly, fast service.

Small friendly and comfortable service area. Perfect stop to break my journey between Taungon and Redruth. And importantly for me...dog friendly! Nice change from the usual fast paced service areas. Travelodge and petrol station with a small Morrisons, Costa and Subway also on the site. Definately worth a stop.

They got it right! I was so impressed with these delicious beef Wedges! I expected the same ole, same old from a road side joint. Boy, was I surprised. I hate there isn't one closer to where I live.

The Hog and Hedge in Whiddon Down is one of best places to break up a drive between Bath and Cornwall. Full 3* review at coeliacwellnes.com Over the years the team have watched their gluten free service improve, so now most of our coeliac team will happily grab a cake or coffee. Having spoken to the team we understand they now offer gluten free food options and are quite hot on cross contamination, but their online information doesn’t advertise it. We’ll definitely return to re-rate the lunch, but until then we can definitely recommend their safely displayed cakes.
