If ever in Downderry, be certain to pop in to The Inn on the Shore. Run by Kerry and a great bunch of staff, expect to find the ideal place to sit on the deck and enjoy a cold pint overlooking the ocean, or take a seat inside the dog friendly and family orientated restaurant and enjoy delicious food. Spent a few days down here on a break away and once we found this little gem, we were here everyday either for lunch, dinner or an ice cold beer in the sun watching the sea. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. A well deserved 5 star review.

It's an amazing place. It's got a great spot near the beach. It's also great for people who own dogs as the place is doggo 🐶 friendly. We had a roast that was offer and they where amazing! The gravy was freshly made that day and went so well with our roasts. The fish and chips also looked really nice too!

Cannot recommend this place enough! We drove from Plymouth yesterday and was so worth it, food was amazing, portions were brilliant and great value for money! Staff were amazing always around checking if we needed anything and so friendly! Can't wait to go back!

This place has SO much potential. Amazing setting, amazing views. Now the offerings and service, unfortunately, let’s it all down.We came here because it had had some great reviews. Went into the pub and was completely ignored. I stood there with my 3 year old and the waitress spoke to the couple behind me asking if they had a booking, over my head.Once I got the attention of the waitress after she’d finished with the other couple, I let her know we had a booking, which she found and gave us a table. The rest of my family had joined me now. We’d looked at the menu before we got there - great options, good kids menu - we were excited to try the food and also it stated on the website that everything was locally sourced and ethically sourced. We were shown a very small chalkboard menu before we were seated and told that was all there was. Disappointed to say the least. We would have left however we’d had a long day out, it was late for the kids so what they did have for them was fine.Unfortunately they didn’t have much for a gluten free diet; fish and chips and pork belly bites. Normally fish and chips would have been ace but I’d had it two days in a row. There was a nice sounding risotto on the menu but apparently the “chef” said that the rice had gluten in it 🤷🏻♀️We had two waitresses, both of whom seemed to be on their first job and unfortunately, as nice as they seemed, weren’t very helpful at all.Such a shame that this was such a let down.If you’re still reading, if you’re going because of the fantastic sounding menu, glossy looking website - you’ll be disappointed. If you’re going to have a drink with a fantastic view; carry on.

Really impressed with this hotel! Located right on the beach, the staff was really friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. Newly renovated bathroom with nice rain shower. Even the quality of the toiletries and towels was above average. Plus there was a nice breakfast included in the very reasonable price. Had a really pleasant stay and would definitely come back.

Wonderful location, delicious home cooked food. Extremely dog friendly & very accommodating. All staff were very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I can not highly recommend this place enough. The only downside was the weather. Although sat drinking Guinness with a sea view was a lovely way to spend a few hours on a miserable day. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable, we will be back. Buster loved it too, thought he was the resident dog. I would give this place six stars if I could. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The view was amazing. The place has a great vibe, I bet summer evenings are amazing here.Didn't eat, only had a coffee after a nice walk along the beach from Seaton. The coffee was great, only enhanced by the fabulous views and a touch of sunshine.A very nice and unexpected find on a blustery day after storm Eunice hit the coast.

Great once again!Last year I had given up on this PUB food, despite being one of my favourite locations. Now under new management I have decided to try again. Very pleasant surprise. I had steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was delicious! In fact the best ever food I ever had on this PUB. So pleased about this. You have a customer back! Thank you soo much.

Fantastic welcome, good food and good beer. We were made to feel welcome with our dogs as soon as we walked in the door.Kerry the publican is a true professional who cares about service and value, couldn't recommend this place enough, well worth a visit.
