Island View Cafe in Cornwall

A quaint and quirky little tea room with stunning view out over the sea and nearby St George's Island, beautifully decorated, the walls and steps outside are adorned with broken China and pottery, the food was very tasty and arrived quickly, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to assist, a very nice place to sit and watch the waves rolling in with a pot of tea

What a find!Great little cafe for lunch with lovely selection of sandwiches, salads and paninis. They say a hearty sandwich and they're not lying!!Dog friendly and wheelchair accessible.Fab staff who are very covid aware and explain the process for first timers.And what a view! Lots of picnic tables outside as well as under cover seatingWould highly recommend a visit!

Amazing views, amazing food, crab sandwiches were fabulous, many vegan options including two flavours of vegan ice cream. Great coffee. Service outstanding and friendly

In the area on the last day of our holiday we were seeking out a place for a cream tea. A search on Google maps showed a listing for Island View and we weren't disappointed, this place is amazing. We've visited similar places before but none could beat this especially in such a beautiful setting. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly person who explained everything clearly from hand sanitiser to where to order. The food was amazing and we had a great visit overlooking the water and it was all we could do not to order a second cream tea so we could stay longer. Clearly businesses like this have had a difficult time throughout the pandemic and there's currently different approaches throughout different places which makes it hard to understand who should be doing what but Island View have got it sorted, clean, safe and reassuring. Well done to all the team, we WILL return for sure

Scones were delicious and fresh for a very good price with generous amounts of cream and jam. My only gripe is that everything comes in takeaway packaging. Tea definitely doesn't taste the same and it cheapens the whole experience while creating a huge amount of avoidable rubbish (albeit recyclable). Would have gone elsewhere if we knew beforehand but was still tasty with a good view.

Great food, excellent portions. Very COVID safe. Tuna sandwich and fresh crab salad were amazing. Salad was excellent too 😀 Limited space for sitting inside, especially with the weather being hit or miss at the moment

What a little gem!! Lovely staff, fantastic Covid awareness but best of all the fab views and cakes!! Plenty of vegan choice too. I'm dairy intolerant so was really really pleased with my vegan dark chocolate orange cake! We also had G/F courgette and avocado cake. Definitely worth a visit. Mainly outdoor seatin.

EXCELLENT - you feel really safe here as you can see a lot of thought as gone into making it safe - when you arrive you are told the procedure and your hands are gelled - you take a seat that has been cleaned - choose from the menu and one person goes to order wearing a mask - your food is then brought out to a table and your name is called - the food was superb the chunky chips were a delight- when you have finished you put all the disposable waste in a bin and leave via a different route - I really recommend this cafe the staff are brilliant and friendly the views are amazing and you are safe - absolutely recommended covid safe

Love an authentic tea room as this has to be the best one I've ever been to. Nothing beats the decor, ambiance and views! The scones were so soft, clotted cream so smooth and jam was so rich. Could not have asked for more while enjoying the view on a warm summer day. Kids loved the special hot chocolate too!

Really very impressed by this tea Room/cafe nice and clean and tidy and very well kept gardens on a lovely road or of Looe looking across towards the Looe Island.Lovely cream tea and some of the best Jan and light scones we have ever had.And dog friendly too
