Very disappointing Sunday roast at Liskeard Tavern on 26/6/22. We waited an hour after ordering, it was overcooked, tired looking, dry round the edges and the veg were cool. Only the cauliflower cheese we paid extra for was hot. Had they told us there was an hour's wait for the roast we could have changed our choice. Very poor portion control on gluten free meals from Whitbread Inns. After many complaints we got a reduction from the bill and 25% off a future meal but I'm never ordering the roast again.Very very disappointing.

I booked a table for two in advance. My wife and I arrived on time and were shown to a table. I ordered drinks and two Sunday Roasts. Waited 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive! Waited nearly 1 hour for our Sunday Roasts to arrive! The restaurant was not particularly busy. The staff on duty were very friendly, but there seemed to be very little organisation! And a lot of staff chatting! When our roasts arrived we ended up with one dish of cold veg being brought out between the two of us! Roast Beef which was as tough as leather! And stuffing which was as hard as a brick! When the meals arrived I asked for extra gravy. It did not arrive! I asked another waitress after about another 20 minutes and it did eventually arrive! Not a pleasant dining experience.

Convenient to A38. Great decor, staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Service great. I had lentil hotpot and my daughter the veg curry. Both really delicious. My only issue is that the portion sizes are quite small. Would expect a little more for the price. Otherwise excellent.

Walked in and got a table, considering they were quite busy. Service was good, friendly staff, happy to help. Only thing I would comment on is the waiting time for the food. Think we waited a good 40 minutes or so - Understandable they were busy and it was a Sunday. Overall good service and good atmosphere. Also good value for money too, food was nice.

We went to Liskeard Tavern for our Easter lunch today and it did not disappoint.I had a huge roast with Gammon as my choice of meat (with a side of cauliflower cheese) and hubby had fish and chips. The food was so delicious and the best roast I've eaten out in a long time.Piping hot right to the last mouthful and I would definitely recommend a Sunday visit if you are in the area.As always the staff were lovely and very attentive. Will visit again soon.

Has a very nice atmosphere, and plenty of seating. Was there for a small wake with family however the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, and there was a large menu of food to choose from. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. Would go back again and would recommend

Not great food to be honest.Went for a help yourself carvery, or so I thought! as daughter and partner recommended, but for some reason the options have changed and you now get a plate with wafer thin slices of meat, about 5 small potatoes, two small pieces of parsnip about a teaspoon of stuffing on top of the same amount of mashed turnip with what is supposed to be red wine gravy but had very little substance or taste. You then get a small selection of vegetables on a dish between two people, peas carrots and cabbage. The staff are polite and friendly and service was great to be fair.

We had a great meal here this evening. Our service from Ian was fantastic throughout; he is a very passionate and attentive member of staff that goes the extra mile to help us.The food was great quality and was served very promptly. We were so full we didn't have room for dessert. We would all happily go here again and would highly recommend!

As average drinking and dining experiences go this one is pretty much the gold standard. The staff were friendly enough but the genericness of the place has to be experienced to be believed. Its as if were designed by a committee of the blandest interior designers as an experiment to create the most inoffensive space possible.I drank a very acceptable beer and ate a completely ok vegan burger. A friendly member of staff brought me two sachets of ketchup which livened up my generic pub chips and I wondered how long it had been since I ate from an oblong plate. Possibly when the Spice Girls were in the charts.Go there... It's zen-like blandness is an experience.
