We ordered 2 teas and one scone with jam and cream £14.02 which was so overpriced. The scone had a rubbery texture, like it had been warmed too long in a microwave and the jam was more like strawberry jelly. A hotel classed as 5* and the price I would have expected much better quality. Location was nice with a small balcony overlooking the bay and the interior decor was lovely with sea inspired art by a local artist decorating the walls.

Excellent service. We had a lovely couple of days here. Peaceful and tranquil. Just what the Doctor ordered. No stress. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Staff all friendly.

We had a lovely stay at The Lugger Inn for my husband’s birthday. Situated in a beautiful Cornish fishing village with stunning walks right on the coast path. Very friendly staff and a comfortable room with sea view. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was rather expensive, but this was the only negative point. Would definitely highly recommend

Lovely 2 night break, very tranquil and picturesque, could not provide dinner on first night, if the shop inn up the hill couldn't fit us in, we would of been scupperedFull English on first morning was fantastic expect missing beans so a little dryEggs royale to the next morningNot to happy to about to 10% surcharge, I prefer to leave a tip myselfCar park spaces too small, both car doors got dings in themAlthough we had a lovely 2 night break, we would go elsewhere next time

Beautiful building with ample parking just outside in a tiny little cove. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Rooms are very comfortable, with some nice extra touches, like robes and slippers, a complimentary turn down service and sweet treats. Slightly whistling windows on a windy day but the view from the sea view rooms makes up for this. Highly recommend room 201. Food was great and reasonably priced. Again lovely service. Definitely would recommend.

Really disappointed in The Lugger , we married 3 years ago and had our honeymoon here. Staff were amazing at that time. Today we rang to come and visit you this weekend , told that the restaurant is only open to residents only. We also asked could we come for coffee as we wanted to visit the hotel and beach again to be told you are closed. Really disappointed , you couldn’t accommodate us for coffee I guess new management etc, shame won’t be coming again

So we stayed at the Lugger Hotel last weekend for a double birthday celebration, and it was fantastic in every way. My wife is vegan so I emailed them to ask if they could accommodate her request and they made sure that there was adequate food there for her. The deluxe room with sea view was a real bonus for us, it was well presented, clean, warm and inviting. The staff couldn't have done enough for us which made our stay a relaxing one, 10 out of 10.It's the first time I've stayed at the Lugger but I know it won't be the last, if you enjoy coastal walks and a peaceful place to visit then this would be on my bucket list.

Another great stay at The Lugger. The deluxe sea view room(s) is/are well worth the extra money although all the rooms are nice - but to sit and watch the sea rolling in and out of the harbour of a morning/evening is good for the soul.Portloe is just such a beautiful place away from the hustle and bustle of touristy Cornwall. The staff are so friendly and helpful throughout - I hope this will be a regular stay for a long time to come.(3rd photo below is the view from up over the headland to Jakka Point)

Probably our sixth or seventh winter stay at The Lugger, now no longer an independent hotel but run by Bespoke Hotels. Still one of our favourites with good food and a pleasant atmosphere in such a lovely location. 4 rather than 5 stars as we were surprised to have to ask to be served pre dinner drinks every night of our three night stay rather than the staff notice we were there. The log fire in the lounge was great as it always has been but again a shame we had to ask for it to be relighted as it had been allowed to go out.
