Mariners Rock in Cornwall

A first class quality lunch. Very much a menu for adults. The chefs are to be complimented. Staff were very helpful and super efficient. The views from the restaurant across the River Camel are magnificent. An ideal venue for that special occasion.

What a fabulous lunch. Outstanding in every way. Fantastic starters and the roast beef was absolutely perfect and HUGE. Puddings were exceptional, so make sure you order all of them and share.Staff were brilliant and WHAT A VIEW! I can't recommend it highly enough.Update to review. Just popped in for a quick drink and an early supper. Absolutelyoutstanding. The Dog's Pollock really is!!! Great things on the new Seasons menu too. Market fish was a huge piece of monkfish and was just fabulous. Make sure you have the hispi cabbage too, as it's cabbage like you've never had before.

My favourite pub in all of the UK, took a pilgrimage down to Cornwall from Merseyside 3 times in 2021 and made sure to eat here each time we did. If you can get in for a Sunday dinner I'd highly recommend!

Amazing meal in upstairs bar (book here for best views), incredible starters (scotch eggs and fish cakes so good!) then loved the dog’s pollock! And great service, too!

From the moment we walked in the service we received was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and every question we asked was fully answered. Pub grub at its best, delicious food beautifully presented. Great view of the coast from our table. We booked but there were walk ins who got table outside, dogs can be added to your booking.

Went for a late lunch today, the food was amazing and the staff were amazing helpful. Thanks again for making our afternoon fun and we enjoyed those amazing burgers and great beer too! We look forward to coming back some day

Turned up with no notice and without a booking (9 people, a baby and dog) and everyone was so so accommodating. Food was delicious and all the staff were so kind and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our beer, food and desserts, especially the chocolate orange crème brulee. Fish and chips/Lamb pie was our favourite mains. Our table had a beautiful view of the River Camel as the tide came in. Thank you so much to everyone and hopefully we'll be back in the future.

Lovely atmosphere, staff attentive and professional. We had lovely glass of red and perfect pint of doom. Would recommend the scotch egg and oysters the cabbage side dish was literally yummy, also had the buttermilk chicken which was so tasty. Pricey if your not use to quality but perfectly priced for area and quality. Really delicious Enjoyed x

I have really struggled to decide what rating to give and what to say here. Longer read than I'd usually like to post (perhaps you could read it whilst waiting for your booked table!)...Some highlights:- most notably the fantastic Sarah who served our table once we were (finally) seated.- no matter how fancified they try to make it, the jewel in the crown will always be that wonderful view.- cracking Aperol spritz and Sharp's cider.Sadly though, I think three stars is quite generous (and only given because Sarah was fab!).Lowlights were:- truly dreadful service from the front of house guy (bearded Zimbabwean) - arrived just pre-3pm for our booked table; told it wasn't quite ready but we could 'whet our whistle' in the bar... 52 minutes later (with no apology or acknowledgement from from anyone that we were still waiting) my husband went to see if our table was ready... We were then seated immediately upstairs, as though the table had been ready for ages and it was our job to find it. Again, no apology as we were seated. (One star would be generous for this front of house service.)- Food is good but certainly not worthy of the price point (see also: Taproom - down the road - for surprisingly yummy food and exceptional service)- Drink selection also good, not noteworthy.- I feel the place still markets itself as a pub (which it most certainly is not anymore) but uses this as an excuse for missing the mark on the finer dining the price point would suggest. I miss being able to roll off the beach and casually stroll in for a pint. This seems to have taken the local boozer away but not quite replaced it with a great place to eat.In summary, a real loss of a true local for Rock.

The restaurant was very busy but they made an exception for us and allowed us to dine on the terrace. Food was lovely and well cooked. The service is top notch! Highly recommend!
