Mermaid Alley in Cornwall

Fab restaurant, staff are friendly helpful and attentive whilst giving you space to enjoy the dining experience. The menu although relatively small has plenty of choice and each dish is loaded with flavours and ingredients. The cocktails are also worth a mention. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a quirky setting.

Absolutely worth for me to wait for three days - I was trying to book this restaurant when we're driving to Penzance, finally secured a table on my last night. Everything is well cooked with perfect seasoning, highly recommended.

Wow, wow, wow. Fabulous food. Dishes from around the world with local produce and twist. Crab prawn Quesadilla excellent. Pork scotch egg next level. Fish of day leaves you wanting more. Portion sizes will suit anyone. So good we booked for lunch next day.

Disappointing is an understatement. Booked a table for 9:30pm the day before in person and nobody told me that they didn't serve food after 9pm until we ordered drinks on the day. We'd waited all day looking forward to going here. We sat by a couple having food which made me even more hungry.Yes you did give us free nachos. However, you told us "to have while you wait for your drinks" this wasn't compensation. You did offer us a scotch egg, even though the kitchen was "closed". Although I did appreciate it, I don't like them. I did give it a 3* review, but as I'm a "keyboard warrior", I've changed it to 1*. You knew we were disappointed. What's the point of arguing about it? What was I meant to do? Beg you for food?

Great little place for an evening meal. The staff were friendly and saw to us quickly. There is quite a small menu but what they have tastes amazing! We had the pulled pork and jalapeño scotch egg as well as the philly cheese steak taquito for starters and the california fish and chips and pork belly with mac and triple cheese for mains all of which tasted amazing. They also have a good range of cocktails and everything is really well priced! Would definitely go back again!

Very nice, quirky place! Food was very good, portions fulfilling, prices reasonable - everything that you should expect from a good restaurant! Staff members were kind and professional, and made us feel welcomed. We had a good time, and definitely can recommend this place!

I cannot stress enough how strongly this place qualifies as a "must go".The daily special was ciabatta grilled aubergine sandwich that was expertly made, beautifully presented and tasted just as good!The beetroot hummus falafel though is the MVP. I still have day dreams about it!Great place for vegetarians. The service is warm and prompt. If I haven't mentioned before, this is a must go in penzanze

The food here was really good. This was the best meal of our 5 day trip of West Cornwall.

Visited on our week break from London. The service was great and fantastic food. Wide selection to choose from with the daily specials ticking all the boxes. The cocktails were also delicious. Little gem hidden off main square. Reviews from others speak highly of this restaurant and they did not disappoint!

Such a warm, friendly atmosphere at the Mermaid. A family-run team made us feel very welcome & food was very tasty. Cocktails to die for! You must try the cosmic coffee. Woof! V.popular and fully booked when we went this eve (Friday) so make sure to plan ahead! They respond on Facebook messenger :)
