OK so my wife and I here on holidays for 2 weeks, booked for a meal for Monday 20th JuneDecided to eat in the bar area and sat there, went to order 2 drinks and first impressions, the staff seemed flustered and stressedAsked what the catch of the day was and no one was able to advise, I made light of this stating that whatever the fish is I'm sure I won't be disappointed and ordered thisMy wife ordered the scampiA few minutes later a staff member came to our table advising that there was no scampi left, so my wife ordered a burgerMeals arrived about 25 minutes later and the catch of the day was Bream, which I've had many times at other restaurants, the portion size was pathetic and the accompanying vegetables were too saltyMy wifes burger seemed like something that could be bought from a Tesco freezer, the bun was not Brioche as described and the chips were like warmThere was no cutlery left down to us and I realised that I needed to collect this from a table beside the bar🙄Went to pay for the meal and the employee stated £46.00, I hadn't seen the bill at this stage and asked to see what I was paying for, the more senior employee who I had been dealing with when I entered the restaurant, quickly interrupted, stating that the scampi that my wife ordered and subsequently was unavailable, hadn't been deducted, he knew this within a few seconds and didn't need to check the billThe bill was quickly corrected and I paid the revised amount of approximately £37Well we're here until July 2nd, the restaurant may be convenient but we'll be staying well clearHope this review helps the restaurant deal with the poor customer issues I have highlighted

While on holiday in Cornwall visited this restaurant because at first glance the reviews looked good. What a mistake.. wrong order coming out, undercooked food and stale buns. Got out as quick as we could, a small discount applied but that didn't really compensate. Would not recommend at all.

Went for Sunday lunch today and had the beef, which was lovely. For pudding I had the apple pie and my husband had the Eton mess, both were really nice. My husband hasn't stopped going on about the Eton mess! Service was fab, I can't fault it. Staff were friendly and helpful

Sadly disappointed, we dropped in on the spur of the moment for an evening meal, the restaurant was clean and inviting, we ordered and received our meals promptly, however, the whole evening was spoilt by very noisy people in the bar area, one woman had a very loud laugh that wouldn't have been out of place at Halloween!.The beer I ordered was flat, no head no bubbles, the food was OK but could have been a lot warmer, we were in the old Inn just down the road a couple of days before, I wish we had gone there again instead

A lovely little watering hole, plenty of ciders and beers on tap. Staff are friendly and there’s a games corner where you can play all kinds of board games. Nice beer garden too.

Been going here for over 20 years now. But there's no way I will set foot in here again until it changes hands. All staff especially the female looked grumpy. We had to pay for our food when we ordered which we've never done before. There was 11 of us and all these years have always sat in the restaurant, even though it was empty we had to sit in the bar. Not even any locals in there any more. Come back Cheryl & Pete please it's notvthe same without you.

Very relaxing stay for 5 days.Breakfast are very good.Friendly staff too.The only thing I advice for pensioners don't book room 5 or 6.Because it's a bit narrow the stairs on that room. But apart from that beautiful hotel to stay two shops (Coop,Spar) are in the corner if you need something ..Highly recommended this hotel.

10 out of ten for the Mounts Bay team! We had a lovely meal, the service was friendly and attentive, and the table layout for St Valentine's day struck just the right note. Well done, all of you!

Had been here before a couple of years ago, loved the whole experience. But wait!Booked in January 2021 for late August 2021 to ensure good table etc. Checked website again just before going so the family could get an idea of the menu, it still looked amazing.. Arrived at 8pm to be told table not ready, went to bar ordered drinks and added to table bill. (No large wine glasses) Well,The table! This was way to small for 4 adults, we were actually touching shoulders. Moved to another table now with me stuck on one end.. Now! The menu! NOT THE SAME AS ON THE LOVELY WEBSITE! Oh no! Now it looks like a joke and was told all the seafood was sold out so it was curry or similar or a £21 8oz steak, not priced like any of the rest of the cheap menu. Decided to leave.. Went to pay for drinks only to find an extra large Chardonnay and a pint had been added.. Staff nice and apologetic but I was glad to be leaving.. Never to return. Gave 2 stars only because of the staff..
