Nelsons Restaurant in Cornwall

Fabulous evening with family celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, service and atmosphere brilliant.Would definitely recommend, have been before and will go again.

Whenever we visit Polperro, we have a meal here. The atmosphere is olde worlde, comfortable, the service is efficient and the food excellent. I especially enjoyed the 'Lemon Sole Amande', served with fresh veges and new potatoes. And of course, a nice glass of wine! Cleared my plate!!

My Wife and I had dinner last night at The Nelson restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambience was perfect, very comfortable with relaxing jazz in the background. We received a warm welcome from the friendly team The food?! Amazing! Perfectly cooked Scallops, gorgeous pate, beautiful Lemon Sole, fresh vegetables and all finished with wonderful desserts. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of Chablis from the extensive wine list. The whole evening was excellent value for money and we would heartily recommend The Nelson.

We had our meal on Saturday and it was lovely. Decided to come back on Sunday and it was full. Went inside to ask if any cancellation and been told by a mature staff that no cancellation. Just about to ask her if we can book for Monday but she said she's too busy to talk to me. Because of her rudness attitude I will not come back to this restaurant again.

MARVELLOUS would recommend this fish restaurant, ok not cheap but fantastic food.we will return when we're back in Cornwall.

Lovely food, just needs a little updating inside.

Had the lobster in Garlic Butter!!! My partner had the lobster in Tomedore Sauce. Amazing! Price is £££ but you will not be disappointed. This place is good value for money. High quality fish food / fine dining in the beautiful town of Polperro!

Where to start, we walked passed this place and the sign said fully booked. We popped in on the off chance of a cancellation and much to our luck we go a booking, therefore if you do want to eat here defo book a week in advance! The lovely lady was very helpful with recommendations and if you love lobster this is the place to go locally. We got the biggest one available to share between too which was just under 3lbs and was the perfect amount. The scallops to start were lush and a nice Chablis to go with it all. The decor is reto but we absolutely loved it what a fantastic place with lovely services, what a lucky treat so again make sure you book to taste the local wonders of the sea.

Excellent food and great service. Crab Mornay is fantastic and the lobster thermidor was stunning. My wife's bouillabaisse was absolutely delicious and huge. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Make sure you book it gets busy

Had a lovely dinner here. The food was good and the staff was attentive and friendly. Prices and portion size were perfect. My dishes were a little heavy on the sauce though. Would recommend for delicious fresh seafood.
