Just wanted to add a few things my boyfriend missed off his review. We didn’t come in with attitude, I was polite with the woman that served us she had an attitude and was quite rude. You must be very insecure and your staff if they’re listening into conversations. Says a lot really. You clearly can’t take criticism, if you think people are rude for saying somethings not right then having your own restaurant isn’t for you. It’s like a place out of Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmares and I’ll tell you for what he’d shut the place down. Your behaviour is horrendous. Maybe think about how many people are saying the same thing, it’s not the ‘rude’ customers it’s you. You’re the problem. For the record if I wanted a freebie I sure wouldn’t go to your place for one. I left most of my gammon which is what I complained about. Checking food, maybe you should of tasted how vile it was. It was like leather and fatty. I’ve had plenty of gammons in the midlands and they’re cheaper and never been so fatty. The grumpy old man sat doing nothing for ages on his phone, maybe help the poor staff instead of complaining about everyone else. I will await your amazing response as your vile responses just show everyone who reads the reviews what kind of place you are. And before you say it I will jump with joy to never step foot in your place again. Everyone else says the same thing about manners, your behaviour and the food. Have a reality check.

Bit nervous to post a review on here as apparently the owner berates anyone who says anything negative but all of the negative reviews say the same thing so you'd think they'd just try and improve the service and quality of food... but nevermind.Came here for food as I'm pregnant and was craving sausage chips and gravy. The man serving was very rude, so it didn't start off great. Order came to £35 which for the portion sizes blew my mind. I asked for salt and vinegar, pretty sure they just thought it onto the dish and didn't actually put it on. Somehow the chips were tasteless? And the gravy was somehow worse? Sausage was really tasty, will give them that. My husband got fish and chips that he said was the driest thing he'd ever eaten.Wish I'd read the reviews before we went as it was really disappointing and my pregnant self was left feeling really unsatisfied.Waiting for the abusive comment from the owner now saying I'm wrong...Edit- I feel like the owners response below has proven my point. No responsibility taken at all by the owner. I would also like to add that I was incredibly polite when I went in (I've also posted a 2nd review today for another business and praised them to the high heavens so I dont appriciate the owner acting like im being mean for the sake of being mean) - the owner claims we should be nice because it's their livelihoods but doesn't plan on changing their approach to the customers or maybe just even improving the quality of their food... says it all really.

Wow caught bigger fish going pond Dipping, stale chips left over from lunch no doubt, portion size questionable £34.72 for 3 standard fish n chips with a pot of peas (take out) felt like I was being robbed definitely a North/South divide as you definitely get more for your money in yorkshire. Would rather skip a meal then dine here again, I wouldn't give zero stars they definitely get 1 for being polite and friendly at point of service but nothing else going for them.

Chips were good which made up for the grumpy service. Lady serving looked like she had been slapped in the face with a wet cod by the equally grumpy man. If your running a Fish & Chip shop in a busy tourist resort then at least be grateful and welcoming to your customers! I didn't go into the shop, but standing outside waiting and heard several customers complain about the grumpy staff. You turned one family away as they had small children who MUST all have individual meals to be allowed inside to eat.....baby in a pram....fish and chips!!??

Worst fish and chips ever, save your money. Dripping in grease and not warm. £24 for one fish and chips and one scampi and chips. Asked for extra salt and vinegar and none on these once packet opened. Scampi wasn't cooked and was just balls of grease. Even the dog wouldn't eat this food... We tried. Straight in the bin. Surely locals wouldn't buy from this shop. We certainly wouldn't return.

Good food, pleasant setting, clean and well laid out. Refreshing to see a good old fashioned healthy sense of humour from the friendly staff. Food was served very quickly and was freshly cooked...not taken from the usual fish and chip shop hot unit. Prices are high, but well worth it for the welcoming atmosphere.

Payed £3.40 for large chips and look at the size I went back in and question whether it was alarge chips to be that's what it is. Can't express how ripped of I feel. Don't waste your money people

As per the attached photos - between my two burgers was a thin layer of pink plastic. Had to cut it off with a bread knife. Clearly an accidental oversight however cannot go unhighlighted. Food was nice however the negligence overshadows the experience

Our family chose not to dine here due to an apauling attitude regarding a very simple question. " is the reseraunt open?"A face mask for anyone over 2 repeated 10 times looking like a Mongol with big insecurities. We really reccomend the pub over the road. A superb ale battered fish and chips.I really left scratching my head .Edit in response to the owner.I pity you for your management but even more for all the disregarding comments on your reviews.Un educated and laughable really. Also we have no problem wearing a mask. But the fact it was a simple question from the door I didn't realise that we had to. This is going to the papers.(Photo from the pub over the road)Flawless with home made tarte sauce. Service with a smile.
