We were a group of 4 friends visiting St Ives. We stopped here for lunch. My wife has a Fructose intolerance so has problems with onions, garlic, certain fruits and mushrooms. The person who took our order, who I believe to be the owner, was very helpful. He took time to listen to her problems and came back explaining what she was able to have off the menu and what the chef could do with some of the other items. The food was very tasty and served quit quickly.

From the outside, you might not be enticed but make the effort and you will be rewarded by great food and drink with an amazing view. Fabulous!

Excellent food & service, absolutely delicious new tapas menu.We had Korean chilli butter tiger prawns , Ponzu Mackerel Pâté, and Nduja mussels from the specials board. Wow.Sticky, sweet desert pizza to finish with chocolate spread, marshmallow and popping candy, sounds wrong, wait till you try it.

If you've visited before 2022, you need to know that this place has evolved. Its now a lovely, relaxed, but upmarket place which serves tapas and pizza. Everything on the menu is top quality, you can't make a bad choice. There are new specials most days and the service is friendly, chilled but attentive and there is great attention to detail. We love the team there and visit often. You can still get a coffee, sandwich or cake from the takeaway window but upstairs is a different world. The terrace is particularly lovely, with its beautiful views.

Absolutely love this cafe. For many many years it’s been our go-to when visiting St Ives. Beautiful view, lovely food and usually attentive staff. However so disappointed this week. First of all business has changed so food is not what we expected. That’s fine, things change and update so we understand that. The sign outside says they are open 9-11.30 for breakfast and 5.30 onwards for evening meal. Tried to go there for breakfast. We were told that we couldn’t eat in the cafe with our dog (didn’t expect to to be honest) but we were then told that we couldn’t sit in the outside area as it was set up for lunch. This morning there was only one other customer in the whole cafe. It could have been that the outside area was booked for a private lunch but this wasn’t communicated to us. So we were left wondering how two people and a dog sitting at an outside table could have greatly put the staff out. We were left thinking that they didn’t want our business and to be honest, despite our love of the cafe, we will think twice before we go again. Such a shame. So disappointed.

We had our wedding at Porthgwidden Beach Cafe in October and the whole team did such an amazing job. It is a gorgeous venue and Di, their wedding planner, was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole planning process and on the day. She is amazingly organised, friendly, proactive and professional, and really put her all into making sure that the day ran smoothly. She was really on top of everything that needed to be organised and helped so much with things like working out the timeline of the day. We were in touch so much before the day that it felt strange to stop all the texts and emails afterwards haha. The food was delicious (lots of people said it was the best wedding food they have ever had and we agree!) and it was clear how much the whole team cared about making everything perfect. It's a great venue for a smaller wedding (we had 51 guests) and works well with a small band. Thank you so much to everyone who played a part in making it such a fantastic day. I really recommend it as a wedding venue to anyone looking!

Really really good food and very friendly service. The whole.place was very calm and relaxed. We were told as we arrived to follow Covid protocols in a very informative and friendly manner. The service was delightful even though the waitresses had to do it from behind masks. Food was excellent and very very good value. Can not recommend this place highly enough if you're visiting St. Ives.
