Booked a table for Easter lunch for my family making it clear we had a small baby so needed extra space. Was shown our table which was lounge seats with a tiny, in a walkway. They relocated us to a table in the dining area but one of us was sitting in the kitchen entrance. Being very noisy and feeling like we were constantly in the way. Not feeling comfortable we said we would finish our drinks and leave before ordering. We were still made to pay for drinks feeling very very disappointed with the service.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch. Had a very warm welcome and excellent food, what more could you ask for. Also dog friendly. Well done all. See you next time

Excellent food and service, definitely will return. We were hosted by Sarah who was attentive and efficient, good range of pub food and specials with a clear explanation of the menu. Well stocked bar and four different ales on tap. Sticky toffee pudding was out of this world.

Allowed me to book via the website for Valentine’s Day, received a confirmation email for my booking but turned up to find the restaurant was closed, we were so disappointed! After calling up to get to answer phone it said how they were closed Mondays and Tuesdays in feb but no where on the website did it say that when I booked weeks in advance! I then called the next time they were open and it was explained that everyone who was able to book on the days they were closed should have been contacted but I received no calls and no emails. Absolutely useless. The situation was handled incredibly poorly, not only should they not have a booking system that allows people to book on days they are closed but they also failed to contact me to explain, instead we showed up on Valentine’s Day for it to be closed and not able to get in anywhere else. The staff on the phone wasn’t very helpful and offered barley an apology, won’t ever return.

Called in rainy conditions..following walk of 5 Mike's locally. Made welcome by staff and as had dog was advised politely where to take him and my drink. All in all lovely pub. Good menu but didn't eat here this visit.

A pub that has gone heavy for the food and lost some of its charm. The food is also not great - soft chips, pickled cabbage instead of coleslaw and pork belly with soft fat and no crackling, boiling hot tasteless gravy. The service was friendly but also felt rushed, very little care or time taken.

What a lovely pub, all little nooks and crannies, that people miss so much these days. We were given a nice secluded area, where us and the family and our dog could get together. Nothing was rushed, they gave us plenty of time to choose our food, and they were so attentive, perfect. But I only have one criticism, the choice of food was limited, especially if you are not keen on chips, which sadly, most of the pubs seem to have in Cornwall. But you have to visit this pub, its on my top ten in Cornwall

Great food and excellent customer service. Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Nice outside area with plenty of parking.

Fantastic little pub with excellent beer and lovely food. Ate there three times during the past 2 weeks. Staff were always very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!!!

We walked from Carnon Downs caravan park a couple of times, once cross country and once via the road. A beautiful old thatched building with an extended beer garden. The menu was slightly limited, but the food was good.
