Red Lion in Cornwall

We had takeaway rather than eating in so wasn't there long. The welcome we had was really lovely and we are looking forward to eating in there as the takeaway was top notch!

Absolutely lovely charming pub, staff where very nice and kind. Food was rather scrummy, pleasently surprised. very happy to be fitted in on a busy night, recommend to anyone to come here. Special curry of the day was delicious

Fabulous pub. This has now become our 'local'. Staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The food is delicious. We have never been disappointed. Worth every penny!

Found this place whilst on holiday. An all round great experience. Staff were really busy but gave us a warm, friendly welcome. Even though they said there may be a delay on food due to staff shortages it came out in a reasonable amount of time. I had Beef Wellington and my wife had Chicken Skewers with chimichuru sauce. Both were excellent and beautifully presented. The whole staff should be very proud of this gem of a pub.

If you are looking for a nice country pub that's off the beaten tourist track then I'd recoment this place, the menu is quite small but this is not a bad thing as it allows the dishes served to be of a better quality. The staff were polite and welcoming. Next time I'm in the area I'll be going back.

Great food, excellent service and dog friendly. Easy access and has it's own car park.

We visited as a family of 9 (plus 2 dogs) whilst camping nearby, and we were very impressed! Firstly the decor is lovely, everything seems very new and looks beautiful! We each had mains and dessert, as well as several drinks each during our visit. As a large group you expect to wait a little longer, however everything arrived quickly and was clearly freshly prepared. There is a great choice of options on the menu, and almost all of us ordered something different with lots of other options available. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the only reason food was left on any plates was to save room for pudding! The portion sizes were generous whilst being very fairly priced. The dessert options were very classic options (brownie, sticky toffee pudding, sundaes etc), which means there really is something for everyone. Finally, all of the staff that we met during our meal were lovely! Very friendly and chatty with us, and giving treats to the dogs which is a bonus. I hope one day to return to Cornwall because I would love to go back!

I don't write these reviews at all, so I'm sorry if my comments don't do this place justice. I hoped for a great night out, but I was blown away by my experience. Great food and great staff. I enjoy it when the staff are willing to take time out to interact with their customers and I was not let down. I can't recommend this pub highly enough. I don't see how you could fail to be impressed by the pub experience this venue has to offer.

Lovely little place, very accommodating, food is beautiful, can't do enough for you. Booked as a pitstop on way home from padstow as couldn't get in anywhere else and glad we found this little gem. Would love to return when we can on next holiday
