Had yet another delicious three course dinner at the Salamander whilst in Cornwall for a few days. This place never fails to deliver the highest quality food and service. I can’t recommend it enough.

5.30 Saturday night, I opened the doors of Salamander’s. Hazel smiled and said hello,”Any chance to squeeze in a table of two now.”I asked. We will need the table back by 7 the chef said. Great we will be long gone by then. What a lovely meal, Monk fish for my husband and hake for me with seasonal veg and a lemon and dill warm sauce. We completed the meal with local strawberries and clotted cream. The service was friendly and professional. To avoid disappointment I’d book in future.

It was our second time having dinner at the Salamander restaurant. We had visited 7-8 years ago and decided to book a table again while in the area. Food was as good as we remembered it with plenty of choice. My husband had a steak which was great and I had the seabass. There were several other types of fresh fish to choose from. Our main courses were served with a lovely salad or vegetables and new potatoes. Our starters were also great. I had the skewers and my husband had the crab pot. We had a lovely time and will be visiting again when in the area.

Our last night and final meal in Cornwall, and so glad they managed to accommodate us. The food was fantastic and with set menu pricing was very reasonable for the quality. Staff were lovely too. Highly recommended!

We was so excited to visit this restaurant as it had been recommended to us from a local. Our starts was very good and came out fast and fresh. For my main i ordered the steak medium/well pink with no blood. When it arrived it was charcoal black but i thought I would at least taste it first before judging. After tasting it I found it to be chewy and unedable soSo I asked my mum to tasted it for a second option she found it to be the same as me. I then called the waitress over to see if I could get the steak I ordered. The waitress told me off and said what do you want me to do I said I would like a stake that is not charcoled and tuff please. She took my plate off me and walked into the kitchen shouting the customer said its over cooked the whole restaurant heard her as did we.I found that to be supper unprofessional. Then the chief came to my table and said very loudly that my steak was cooked perfectly there's nothing wrong with it and that he had tasted it.That all the ovens had been turned off and that he would not be offering me anything else.I replied ok in shock because i was so embarrassed and just wanted to leave. He then walked off throwing his hand in the air huffing and puffing. We paid the bill and I left the restaurant crying because of how poorly I was treated as a customer.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone because of the outrageously shocking poor service!Look for your self the proof this all in the photo I took of my food.

Great restaurant just off the quayside in Mevagissey. Very friendly, helpful staff.Excellent menu choices, including 2 or 3 course fixed price offers.Good seafood choices as you would expect in a fishing port.Very busy, so definitely need to book in advance.

Absolutely love this restaurant. We visit every time we are in the area. You have to book well in advance as it's so popular. It's a lovely family run business and the staff are warm and friendly. The food is amazing. We have never had a bad meal. In fact quite the opposite. The food is amazing. Only downside is, it's quite small but that would never put our party of 6 or sometimes 8 off. We will be back again, that's for sure

A lovely little restaurant run by husband and wife team. Delicious food, reasonably priced, decent portions. Local produce and home cooked. The cornish brie and chicken skewer for starter were fab, the lamb and bream for main lovely and chocolate torte and sticky toffee pudding for dessert delicious. We had a quiet meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the venue and food did not disappoint!

My partner and I had a meal at Salamander whilst visiting Mevagissey. We had three courses which were very good and good value for money. The service and the ambiance was also very good. A restaurant that is well deserving of all the great reviews it receives.

Fabulous food- wonderful welcoming service at our favourite local restaurant. Scallops with lemon and seaweed butter- crumbed rack if lamb with seasonal vegetables and to die for sticky toffee pudding with local creamy icecream- tip top! Always a reliably delicious night out!
