"Part of the Sam’s Family that was established in 1987. A eclectic interior in an old Jewellery shop located near to Truro Cathedral. Laid back dining, friendly attentive staff and a delicious dining menu of light bites such a Tapas, Super salads and light snacks. Alternatively chose from homemade Burgers, Shellfish, Fish, Steaks, Vegan, Vegetarian and a healthy Kids Menus. If it’s just a coffee or a cocktail & a catch up chose from two floors of socially spaced tables to feel relaxed and safe. Happy Hour 4.30 to 5.30 enjoy an Aperol or a cocktail before the Theatre or even enjoy our pre theatre menu that runs from 4.30 pm. Post theatre drinks and platter available. Sunday bottomless brunches from 11am. Dogs welcome."

A very good choice of starters and mains, with very frequent checks on our meal. This attention to detail is a mark of staff who know their business. Drinks were quick to arrive and the glasses weren't empty for long.We opted for the mains straight away and were glad we did because the portions were extremely generous. Pity we had no room left for the puds!We shall return. Top restaurant!

Good food, fast service, friendly and attentive staff. Only thing stopping it from a 5 is that the food is good, but nothing to blow your mind away.

I like Sam's and have used both this Truro and the Fowey one a few times each. The food is always great but each time I visit the Truro Sam's the service seems off... the people are polite and courteous and seem really keen to please but things just get forgotten and you hedge to keep asking. Whether they struggle to get enough staff when it's busy I don't know but it does slightly let it down. But because there's never any feeling of bad attitudes etc I will continue to dine there. Just need to sort the service as the Fowey Sam's has been superb every time.

Heard good reviews really wanted to try the food and got turned away at 14.10pm on a Sunday saying they were closed when infact they don't close until 15.00pm They had spare tables and people was inside and not overly busy. I believe we got turned away because we had a baby, sadly we won't be returning.

Second visit and it was just as good as the first. Tasty food, excellent service, buzzin atmosphere! For a more romantic feel I would book upstairs. Enjoy!

·

Delicious food cool atmosphere and friendly service all round. Unfortunately a few items missing from the menu but apparently they had a busy Saturday night!Still a very enjoyable visit and generous portions

Please be careful if you are vegan and go here. I ordered the vegan burger a few weeks ago, the coleslaw looked the same as everyone else's, so I asked the waitress to check it was vegan, and it turned out it was not.. , i was assured everything else on the plate was vegan so just to leave it on the side. when I went to eat the burger, I realised it had mayo in, being paranoid I asked again... The mayo also wasn't vegan. I was told they'd scrape off the mayo and put it in a new bun... Um?? Once removing the food, the waitress returned telling me the bun wasn't vegan either so they would redo my whole meal. I have been vegan for a long time and I would have been very very sick if I ate this. Please be careful if you eat here, and to the the owner, please train your staff on dietary requirements if you offer something like a vegan dish, if I was allergic this could ahve been very serious.

Wow, lovely little restaurant find, but book to avoid disappointment. Fantastic staff, all so friendly and very speedy service. Covid can make things really hard but I still felt there was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. A very enjoyable evening.
