Arguably the best restaurant in Looe. Quality food presented well. The two servers we had were also great, we (me and my Mrs) never had to call them over for anything and we were greeted with a smile when we arrived. Some reviews saying this restaurant is expensive, what people need to understand is this is not a chain pub/restaurant, it serves quality fresh well cook and presented food. If you want cheap go to nandos. We both had 3 courses (I had the most expensive meal on the menu) and 3 alcoholic drinks each and the bill was £101 which I think for the quality is reasonable. Very good experience, we will be coming back.

The restaurant is in a lovely setting, the food is amazing and very friendly staff. Very cute inside and well preserved place. You'll have to visit and see for yourself. I definitely would recommend. Very good prices for the roast, We had to book the table in advance by phone, which was hustle free. I can't complain

Excellent service - we were made to feel very welcome. We visited twice for dinner as we were staying close by. Would recommend the seafood medley. Loved the atmosphere and the history of this place.

Lovely birthday meal. Had John Dory fish husband had sticky chicken. Both meals very nice, dessert gorgeous and staff very friendly. Lovely old pub/ restaurant but it felt cold as opposite the door which when not shut properly caused a draft.Next time I’d ask for seat away from the door!

Authentic rustic restaurant in the heart of Looe. Excellent selection of seafood on offer and generous portions. Staff were attentive and the prices very very affordable for the quality.

Went here for dinner first time. First of all the mains are huge. This was the mixed grill and steak. We got massive sides of chips, potatoes and veg.The steak was nice not the best but good portion size. The scallops were really nice and chorizo added to the flavour. Good homemade rolls, nice chips and potatoes were lovely.Would definitely return. For a starter of scallops and crab cakes. Massive mains of mixed grill and surf and turf with two alcoholic drinks came to just under £80 so good value for money.

This is more of a 3.5 than a 4. Good service, seafood nicely cooked. Just a touch boring really. I guess it caters well to the target audience of the 50+, and it wasn't just trading on the 'Spanish Armada wood' theme that we might have suspected. My main complaint is that my John Dory had chilli in the description and there was not a sniff of spice in the insipid tomato sauce that came with the otherwise lovely fish and clams. Perhaps that was pandering to the target audience who are afraid of such exotic things, but seriously, it's 2021 so don't hold back.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch for two the staff were excellent and very helpful. Very historic building with lots of small rooms on different levels. Would highly recommend.

Great food and lovely ambience in the old building. The mussels were really nice as was the lemon sole, with generous portions of both. Staff were friendly and wearing face shields/masks. They're very busy at the moment so book ahead if you want a table!
