Have used sole plaice for a lot of years always been happy always said it was the best chippy in truro , but I feel a bit let down buying 4 cod and chips on the 30th December for the family, and the fish was undercooked runny batter inside and stomach problems for members of the family who tried to eat it. not sure what went wrong that night but was not up to your normal high standards such a disappointing outcome.

On a walk round Truro on a rainy day nipped in here and was very pleased they even have dairy free batter a rare treat which is proper good. Delicious.

Lovely Fish & Chips. Batter was a little soggy though and not very crispy but the chips and fish was delicious.

R.I.P Sole Plaice. Used to be good, but clearly Dave has retired and its all gone wrong.Greasy, and undercooked.The service (takeaway) was shocking. Slower than Christmas , we phone ordered for a specific time and left with the food 15mins later than this time.The fish was broken and the variance in size between the 4 of us was ridiculous.I wont be going back anytime soon that’s for sure.

Fish n Chips was on the to do list while visiting. Lovely fresh cooked chips and a nice meaty bit of cod. Yum

i visited this chip shop today and the food that i had was absolutely stunning! me and my family all had battered cod and chips (i had a small and my parents had the regular) and we all couldn’t stop talking about how nice the food was. the chips weren’t dry or too greasy; they were absolutely perfect - and don’t even get me started on the fish! the staff were also very very nice and the service was quick! the one critique i will say though is that for one pound more i would go for the regular portion instead of the small as it’s only a few chips difference. 10/10 would recommend

The food wasn’t amazing but was ok. We had 3 pieces of fish which were rather greasy. One piece was so greasy the batter completely came off and the same happened to the 2nd piece. However the 3rd piece was more batter than fish. The chips were nice though and the food was hot.
