Wonderful surprise to find this place. Whilst the pub classics are available, the real draw is the chef’s specials. Gastronomic delight, stunning presentation and amazing flavours.Make sure to book ahead.

Great gastro pub with attentive service. The fish options I had were very good

·

Absolutely cracking pub/restaurant, sat in the bar drinking a superb locally brewed pint and eating the best steak I have had in over 20 years. Will most certainly be returning in the very near future.

You will not be disappointed. From the warm welcome, the pleasant ambiance, varying choice of menu, the exceptional quality of the food, superb wine, can only comment that this has got to be one of the finest dining out experiences we have ever enjoyed.Thank you to all the staff, dare I say it, we will be back.

The meals are outstanding and great value, absolutely fantastic! Lovely village pub, staff very welcoming lovely atmosphere. We ate here two nights in a row during our week away, would of eaten there every night if they hadn’t of been fully booked!

Very nice set menu lunch. £18 two courses good value. Excellent Jerusalem artichoke veloute. Brilliant plaice caper butter crispy shallot. Really nice potatoes. Scotch egg with a good runny yolk. Kitchen should watch out as the sausage casing was only just cooked. Only disappointment was “confit pork belly” half a piece of pork belly slice. Fortunately I like my pork anyway it comes but the pork had neither the taste or texture of confit de porc. On the plus side it came with a nice intense gravy.

Fantastic meal this evening. The food is top class, but still at a fair price. All my family loved it. Those Scotched Eggs are awesome. The team behind it are all clearly working hard and since it has been under new ownership is doing really well.Would recommend you pay a visit and support them.

Wow - what a place!Outstanding food and service. I can highly recommend taking a detour to visit.Chef Tim uses fresh local produce to serve up a true feast which is for for the eyes and stomach!! Photos do not do it justice. The pub is an absolute gem in itself with a sheltered haven of a beer garden at the back.I can highly recommend the chicken wings for starter, steak for main and an absolute must - sticky toffee pudding to finish.
