I am local to Newquay and have visited the beach hut on many occasions. Today I came for food with my family and friends- we were a group of 11. We were really disappointed with the food and on the whole the service. We ordered nibbles that we hoped would come ahead of the main meal, however, these were forgotten and came at the same time as the main meal. When the mains arrived the crab dish which was ordered by 4 of our party was cold and the prawns ordered by others were not cleaned properly and as a result were not eaten. We had to ask to place a dessert order we were not offered dessert or coffee. When we were asked if the meal was ok and wanted to respond with our feedback we were dismissed hence why I am now leaving a review. Some of the staff were not particularly attentive though I would say that Nathan was brilliant- he was thorough, had a sense of humour and we felt looked after. Unfortunately his shift finished and someone else took over. The prices you charge are not reflective of the quality and standard of food we would expect. As a local I cannot just be appeased with the stunning view and offer of seafood as there are so many other restaurants in Newquay that offer this. I am not sure I will return again in hurry which is a shame as previous visits have been fab.

Food was nice as was the view right on the beach. Ordering via app was fine, but basically meant we paid for the food and tip before receiving any service. This would have been fine if we'd then received any service after being shown to our table, but possibly compared to other tables we got unlucky with our server and didn't get spoken to during our visit.

Like others we had loved the beach hut in the past but were underwhelmed by this experience. The QR ordering system takes a lot of the fun of the occasion, and paying and tipping before the meal just doesn't make sense (especially as you have to go through it all again to order dessert). Also why is it mandatory to collect my email address, postcode and telephone number?

The ordering online system whilst the waiting staff watch you is really rubbish. We gave up and the kind waitress then helped take the food order the right way. Note to management: sitting down at a restaurant and spending the first 10mins on your phone is not sociable and ruins the experience. Very limited menu and £19 for a burger with the chips was massively over priced. Shame as the old Beach Hut used to be amazing.

We visited on Saturday night for a meal, once we found the right place we had a fab seat overlooking the bay. Much as both my husband and I work in IT, we really didn't like the order and pay as you go through the app. Part of the pleasure of eating out for us is to get to interact with the staff and so the whole experience seemed a bit 'meh' just like ordering a food delivery to your home really. As others have said it was a pretty limited menu, the starter of mushroom chips was OK but the fish and chips was lovely ( although the options for sides was also very limited). The choice of music was really bad and as it was quite quiet in the restaurant the monotonous beat was a bit overpowerimg. All in all it didn't quite live up to what it could have been and we wouldn't visit again because of the impersonal ordering process

Been coming for years, and just a bit underwhelmed by the new menu and setup. Ordering process a bit of a faff. £16 for a burger, and when it arrived told that fries are extra?! Views are still unbeatable though.

A super friendly restaurant, staff are amazing. The view is to die for and the food was so good I have no pictures as I ate it before I realised. The catch for the day, 'Grilled fish in butter and herb with brown shrimps' was scrumptious. A good vibe all around. To note, remember your phone for ordering.

4 coffees + 4 croissants, £32. No problem with that if it's nice. Coffees were cold & tasted appalling. Croissants were supermarket quality. Ordering process is over-complicated and staff didn't seem to have any idea what they were doing. It's a shame when the great location that a place occupies means it stops trying. I remember the old Beach Hut, when it used to be good. Sad to say, it's gone to pieces. Try and find somewhere else if you can.

Gorgeous location. Amazing view and friendly staff. Service was good. Didn't eat but if looked good on other tables. Will return with the dog one day.

Lovely place, service was great, food was great and the view is perfect. Korean short rib was tasty, as was the mac and cheese, burgers were tasty. The dropped cone dessert was a great fun way to finish our meal.
