Good grief. These are not chips. These are scraps. We waited 20 minutes to get our food as there were a lot of customers and the staff were very busy. When it arrived we took it back to our campervan and sat picking out the edible ones before throwing the rest away.Definately and without a shadow of doubt these were the worst chips we've ever had.We considered taking them back but with the queue being so long we decided not to bother.Reading other reviews it appears that The Big Fish have off days when the food is particularly bad.I guess we picked the wrong day!

Quick service gluten free batter the staff were very helpful and explained the the oil was not gluten free which did not effect is found in Tintagle that several places accommodate for gluten free products

I understand that the fish and chips shop in tintagelCalled the big fish was gluton free and had knolage of celiac and knew about this medical condition. My husband went in and try to order fish and chips gluton free he said is that celiac I said yes he turn around and said he couldn't do it .I have seen this review as one of there reviews saying he was aware of celiac and offer services .To me I feel he couldn't be bothered with me at all because it nent putting on a different fryer or he did not know aything about gluten free or celiac.I travelled a few miles because I read that the owner knew about gluten free and celiac .In my opinion he did not know about it my wife was upset as this is a medical condition. So I think u should remove this review about being aware of gluten free and celiac

Probably the worst chippy lunch I've ever had. The chips are like scraps of fried potato, not proper sized chips. I ordered chips and cheese with just salt, they season the cheese instead of the chips (never seen that before in my life) and with so much salt that it's impossible to enjoy your meal of chips and grainy salty cheese. We also got an oily fish + chips, on which they seasoned only the chips and not the fish... Wouldn't recommend and definitely won't be returning.

Crazy busy with some huge orders going in - but the team didn't seem at all phased by this and we weren't waiting overly long. Food was delicious and enjoyed by all. Sat on the wall opposite as the sun set.

Probably the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Chips were dry and about 8 hours old. The batter didn't stay on the sausage. The curry sauce was lumpy and the woman behind the counter acted like I'd killed her cat when I asked for change in coins. I'm actually surprised my coca cola zero is cold. Avoid avoid avoid.

Like it said Big Fish 2 Large Cod and chips £20 and a few pence. Nice large fish with fresh cut chips not frozen very tasty not to much oil happy to visit again. Good Covid restrictions in place very happy.

Avoid - Worst chips I've ever seen, had to bin them right away. Burned, stale and totally inedible. Tourist trap as it's next to the castle. Photos attached.

There are no good chippys in Devon - so we went to Cornwall.I walked in, and asked how good the chips were... The man simply shovelled a few chips out of the frier for me to try one... Sign of a proper chippy!Chips scored a 9/10!The American in our group (who ordered the cod & chips) rated the cod 10/10, and the chips 8/10.Sadly there were no saveloys, and I swiped the last beef & onion pie.We 'ate in', having spent our day roaming the hills. Pasty shops were bypassed, to my delight. There are 2 compact tables, each seats 4 people.Large car park right across the road.No toilet facilities, but it's a chippy.Open later than the English Heritage site. Not the cheapest chippy, but have eaten far far worse having paid more.I will definitely eat there again when I next visit Tintagel! Thanks for the nice grub!Apologies for the lack of dish pics. Was a quick food stop, and the review was a later thought (having enjoyed the meal so).
