Took over 20 mins to be seated even though we had booked. They got our group size wrong even after we confirmed the numbers twice. Waited over 2 hours from when we arrived to when the mains was served. Horrible smell coming from the whole pub, put us off our whole meal. Wouldnt even go in there for a pint, never mind a meal again. This is my first negative food review so it says a lot.

Booked a table for 8 on Saturday 12 of March to celebrate my father's birthday. The food and service were excellent, staff friendly and I felt they went the extra mile with the cake etc. They have a well stocked bar, I'm looking forward to going back.

We had lunch at The Bulls Head in Barston on the 20th February. We had foolishly decided to walk from Olton, c. 7 miles, and by the time we got to the pub we were hungry, parched and a little wet (sorry, we didn't see the overshoe covers on the way in). The food was very good. We both had roasts, pork and beef and the plates were cleaned, quickly. The sides were very tasty also. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent. The only other feedback I would give is that the cask ale offerings were perhaps a little boring but that is personal taste. Unfortunately, the Beavertown Neck Oil was off but the casks were HPA, Mad Goose and Doom Bar which are all quite malty offerings. Perhaps there could be a more vibrant hop forward IPA/Pale on cask on in the future? Our motorhome is stored close to the pub so I am sure we'll be back especially in the summer. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch.

Rare and wonderful traditional country pub, that serves good quality food and drink. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Really worth a visit, would highly recommend.

Pretty country pub off the beaten track. At the time of our visit it was in the throes of refurbishment. It was busy with food but still offered a good selection of real ales. Plenty of outside seating.

Lovely warm summer's evening walk from Knowle after a grey day. We enjoyed a nice pint and a G&T and the smell of the summer BBQ was irresistible. We ate in the basic but airy outside dining area,. lovely food - excellent menu, short but varied, in sight of the chef. Our first meal not cooked at home for 15 months and it was a treat. The young staff were bright, breezy and professional. Fortunately, it didn't get dark for our woozy wander home along the Blythe and through Eastcote.A delightful impromptu night.

I'm a wedding photographer and shot a wedding reception here just before Christmas after the couple had got married at St Alpheage in Solihull. I've been to dozens of "proper" wedding venues around the Midlands and I would say this was just as good or even better than a few of them! The atmosphere was brilliant, the food was great and the staff really friendly. They had a band on the night and it was an epic party! I would really recommend anyone looking at not doing the "normal" to consider here. I had a great time!
