The Carclaze in Cornwall

Relaxing and warm inside and the food we ordered was really good. Fish pie is Home made on the premises and delicious. Husband had Ribs combo, he really enjoyed it too. Staff helpful and friendly. Will definitely go again

First impressions were good, we we're greeted by friendly staff and that side of things continued throughout our stay. Even the food was nice. But we sat at a table which behind us had what seemed a temporary wood screen with gaps in it which sadly let a cold wind through each time the door opened which closed each time with a load bang, which happened quite a lot. I would have normally complained but as it was my birthday treat, it didn't feel the right time. Then came the bill, let's just say I ended up feeling guilty as it was my treat. A person shouldn't have to feel guilty on their birthday. I ended up paying half.

Nice pub and a civilised place to grab a drink in the evening.The buffet breakfast is superb and makes a good spot for a lunchtime meal. There are 2 for 1 offers on a lot of dishes but the menu for vegetarians/vegans is extremely limited. This is more an issue with the chain itself than the restaurant so wouldn't be fair to lower the rating as a result and they do what they can to accommodate requests, but pubs really need to improve ranges to suit more modern and considered diets.

Cannot comment on the food or drinks as we never got served. We did get seated and the chap who seated us did say someone would be over to get our drinks order. After 20 minutes of waiting to be served we went elsewhere. Staff were too busy either chatting amongst themselves or helping themselves to what was left of the carvery. Service was non existent and they were not busy.

We have been here quite often over the last 12 months and the food is always top quality, venue is great, service great. Portion sizes are just about right. It is certainly 10 times better than some experiences I had of the place a few years ago. Starters are maybe overpriced but then that is how a lot of the pub food chains make their money. The good price of the Alcoholic drinks makes up for it though.

Good food. The festive menu was a bit of a chuckle. The "festive" burger was a standard burger with a single pig in a blanket skewered to the top. Much giggles were had. Staff were great and the food was fine. Bit of a trek from the dining area to the loo upstairs so plan accordingly 😃

Covid aware following safety protocol ,staff friendly and helpful.Went for a Sunday carvery, great selection of tender cut meats and delicious vegetables the roasted parsnips hit the spot. Personally the gravy could do with being thicker with a bit more flavor but I ate it all up regardless. The chef looked very hot handling the meat 😜

Oh crikey... Absolutey amazing place, great food, even greater staff. Lovely atmosphere, ideal for an evening with friends or family. Love, laugh and live.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere, brilliant service. Food was pipping hot and well presented. Would highly recommend.
