Where is The Coachman's Bar?

🏠 The Falcon Hotel, Breakwater Rd, Bude EX23 8SD

"When deciding where to eat in Bude, our Coachman’s Bar & Grill is the perfect place to find great food, relax and unwind all day. Here we serve a wide variety of beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. We particularly recommend the two local real ales. Meals are served all day. To the front of the Coachman’s Bar & Grill there’s a raised Beer Terrace with lovely views over the Bude Canal, the Inner Harbour area and across to Bude town centre. This is a great place to dine al fresco sheltered under the canopy and creates a magical continental atmosphere in the summer. Join us for Friday Fizz every Friday from 5-7pm, where Champagne is half price – can’t think of a single reason not to..."

Lovely place, attentive staff, and the burger and sticky toffee pudding was amazing.

Great service and pleasant staff. I chose the fish pie dish.Very generous helping of cheese (about one third of the dish) covering the mashed bits of three different fish ( claimed on the menu, but impossible to tell) and the one single tiny prawn that I did find. The best part was the generous helping of crispy Vege on the side.

Good food, helpful staff. Serves food all day - even in the off season. Seven dog friendly tables. Even though we looked a bit weather beaten I didn't feel out of place! The only place off season where we could meet all our criteria... Open... Vegetarian selection.... Dog friendly... I will eat just about anything so I was spoilt for choice .. and draft cider.

Looked at this place online and the menu looked fantastic. When we arrived the menu had changed which was disappointing. Much smaller and a very basic choice. The pork belly was lovely but the rest was bland to be honest. The burger tasted as if they were frozen and not fresh. Staff were friendly but the not attentive. Ordered drinks and food and the food came first. Overall the quality of service was poor.

·

Great food very friendly service good value for money (we had the roast beef) definitely the best roast dinner in town.

Stopped in for a lite bite to tide us over whilst visiting Bude we were seated inside and our dog was welcome too! I was extremely happy when there was local sparkling wine on the menu by the glass - excuisite! The seafood we had was fresh and tasty. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

Calling ahead of time to book a birthday and anniversary dinner into one for a Monday evening reservation should have been special. It was anything but.We arrived at 7:50pm so before needed so our table can be prepped only to be told 15 mins later it still wasn’t ready and if we would like to take a seat and wait and get a drink. We agreed only to have to wait a further 10 minutes for someone to even take our drink order at that point we wanted to order food but wasn’t able to.Another 15 mins past and we are then told our table still wasn’t ready and the waitress pointed to some dingy table next to us in the waiting area and said we could have that table instead. Fed up at waiting and getting hungry we just accepted this. The moment we sat down the table itself moved like an old sea-saw. They could see we were unhappy but just left this.We ordered our food and the starters came promptly where we got garlic bread and soup of the day (with a cold bread roll).Mains then took ages to come out to the point we had been there an hour and a half which is really ridiculous. Mains arrived and part of our dish was missing (onion rings) we would have let this go but we were so hungry we mentioned this and then very quickly some more arrived which were underdone and really stodgy.Paying £75 in all for a few drinks and two mains with two starters was very overpriced considering we had a better meal in a local pub the night before for 2/3rds of the price. The food was bland and dry and I would never return. If you are coming to Cornwall for a nice getaway avoid this place at all costs.

Beautiful food in a lovely quaint setting full of old world charm. The quality of the food is only surpassed by the freindy efficiency of a great team of staff. We will definitely DEFINITELY be eating there again.
