Recommended by one of the ladies in the community shop in Duloe. Very pleased we decided to go. I had plaice and chips (see photo) for the first time ever, and it was excellent. Even the bread is really good - when it arrived, I thought the slices looked a bit too thick for chop butties but I was wrong! We also had a starter portion of pil pil prawns and a cod and chips, both very nicely done, and then I had a portion of the lovely, homemade lemon meringue pie with clotted cream to finish 😀

We were staying at Looe Bay Holiday park which is about a 5 minute walk from the Coddy Shack.Called in on Sunday but the place was closed (February half term) check opening times when you are there. We turned up without reservation and were seated immediately (family of 4). The phone was continually ringing with people making bookings, so I would advise booking if you are travelling, otherwise you'll only be able to order takeaway. The food was amazing. Hubby had scampi and there was a plentiful portion (approx 12 pieces). My teenage daughter had garlic prawns and they were huge and the sauce was lovely.I had the seared cod, and the taste was wonderful. It was a very substantial piece of fish. My youngest, had chicken nuggets and he says they were the best he's ever had. The chips were lovely, proper 'chippy' chips too.The staff are friendly and attentive, and we were served in around 10 mins with this lovely fresh food. The venue looks lovely too, with plenty of outdoor seating for summer too. A great find on the main road in to Looe.

Food was incredible.Freshly cooked when ordered. Really tasty, great portion size and really good prices.Staff were lovely too.Dine in or take away services.Toilets and parking on site.Highly recommended.Wait times can be higher in the summer so beware.

Great meal. Friendly and attentive staff who communicated well with each other. Food was fabulous, big portions and great value. I enjoyed their squid special which was lovely. We visit every time when in the area and it never disappoints! Thank you for a great meal!

The staff were lovely. However my Fish Chowder had a large piece of broken plastic in it. Although the staff apologised, and I obviously couldn't eat anymore, they didn't offer to do anything else. And did not remove it from the bill until asked to. I will not eat indoors again. Will only use for takeaway fish and chips. After my review had been posted I was contacted by the owner who wanted to find out more, and to let me know the measures they had implemented to avoid this happening again. This customer service goes a long way in my view, and I admire him for what he has done. Therefore I will try eating indoors again. And as I said before use the takeaway service.

Visited on a lunchtime so no need to book 😁 Venue is pet friendly so Boris could join us as well.Bar is very well stocked and has a fantastic selection of both gins and rums. A nice surprise was if you fancy a G&T, there is also a choice of mixers. As it was just lunch, we ordered cod, chips and mushy peas. Food did not disappoint, chips were homemade, fish lovely and white and the batter was crisp and not greasy.Service was good. Staff were efficient but not brusque.Cost wise, I would say reasonable. £12 for regular fish and chips and sides were an extra £1.50 each. I think the portion sizes are quite generous as I couldn't finish my meal.Would definitely recommend 👍🏻

Lovely food but unfortunately very slow service. We had to ask for our food order to be taken and we got the mains after 1.5h... Not joking 😫

OUR PERFECT LITTLE RUSTIC WEDDINGWe had our wedding reception at the Coddy Shack last month, while on our family holiday. This wasn’t our original plan we had a couple of postponements last year due to covid, and now believe everything happens for a reason. Although last years wedding was postponed we still had the holiday in Looe and actually came to coddy shack twice in one week and fell in love with the quirky venue and the amazing Fish & Chips!I contacted Hannah early this year and explained a little bit of how we wanted to celebrate our special day. She was great, she explained that due to covid things may be a little restricted and luckily for us we were planning a micro wedding anyway. It turned out that by June and with lifting of certain restrictions we were able to have the most beautiful day!She kept in touch leading up to the holiday, keeping me calm with lovely text messages. We arrived in looe a couple of days before wedding and went to see Hannah the night before. I took all our decorations (there was a lot) and she just got me! She had kept me calm and basically sent me on my merry way leaving her to decorate the room. After our amazing ceremony in looe we got to the Coddy Shack and we were blown away with how much effort Hannah and her team had gone to for us. She saw my vision and went further! The views from the back of the marquee were astounding and the table was so perfect every little detail she had gone to was noticed by our party! The food was beautiful, and served in little cardboard boxes and personalised for our day! The grazing boards for the evening were amazing, but unfortunately everyone was still stuffed from Fish n chips, so they boxed them up for us to take home they lasted us for the next day or two lol!Big shout out to Harry & Logan who were our waitresses for the evening, nothing was too much trouble and they had a smile on their faces all day and night, lovely lovely ladies. They saw to our every need. When it was time to go home we couldn’t get a taxi and Logan took 3 trips in her car to make sure everyone got home, what a star! The whole team are just amazing and gave me the most perfect day. THANK YOU CODDY SHACK!!
