The Cornish Arms in Cornwall

Had a great meal here. Fish and Chips was good and the gammon was also good. The staff were great and attentive. However not sure it was worth the price.

Hummus starter was fresh and delicious. Had the cod curry which was excellent! Could have had a tad more rice with it, but overall a really great dish. Would definitely recommend and order it again!

Absolutely lovely staff who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the staff really did make the experience there so enjoyable. Very family and dog friendly. My 5 year old son lost his first wobbly tooth there by coincidence and they made him feel so special and brave so thank you especially the lady at front of house and lady who served us. Sorry we didn't get your names but know it meant a lot to us all.

I was really looking forward to my visit to this pub whilst on Holiday. To my disappointment it was very average. The Food was average and it took the waiter 3 goes to get my drink right. They even try to serve a Gin and Tonic in a pint glass. The staff where very unwelcoming. Chips where under cooked and the fish was very average. We went to another local pub the same week and it was better food and better service. Would not go back to the Cornish Arms for the money they charge.

Enjoyed meal. No complaints. For my birthday, and a happy birthday sweet with decorated plate was brought at end, which was a nice touch. Just avoid in the high season as very busy then.

Popped in for a drink on the way home with family who are visiting from Denmark, who offered to pay for the round of drinks with cash. The barman who served my Brother in law informed him that cash isn't acceptable in the pub, only cards. My Brother in law had to use his Danish bank card to pay and consequently incurred a £3 fee on his 'foreign' card for making the transaction. Surely now restrictions have been lifted, so should your restrictions on customers wanting to pay by cash, especially those visiting from other countries who want to avoid paying excess charges on their bank cards. I feel that in refusing to take cash in payment is discriminatory against customers, especially those who are visiting from overseas. Supermarkets and other shops have continued to accept cash, and their staff follow their employers hygiene rules to ensure they are protected, so I really cannot understand why you are not accepting cash in the same way.

We went here with friends on a Saturday. We thought the food was very good. All of the dishes we ordered were great. I had the grilled squid as a starter which was delicious. The staff was very welcoming and kind. I had a feeling that they were seasonal hires which means they weren't as 'well oiled' as in other places but this was overly compensated by their attention and friendliness. The place itself is quite big and seems to be set up for larger events as well which means it was not as intimate as other inns and pubs. All in all we had a great and warm experience how ever and I would recommend this for a reliable and friendly lunch in a nice environment.

Had a lovely evening meal here on Wednesday. Warm welcome from friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, attentive and helpful team, delicious food and reasonable prices. Also very kind and accommodating to our well behaved dog. Well definitely be back.

Excellent quality food, bit of a wait for our drinks and the menu is different to their "on line menu", they don't offer pies! Staff very friendly, good choice of beer at reasonable prices. Well done to this pub/restaurant for not hiking up the prices.

Reading reviews on other sites I must say I was rather dubious about visiting here. Well aware that there wouldn't be a Sunday roast didn't effect our experience in the slightest. Dog friendly, which was great as the dog finally settled under the table he was happy to receive a little bit of the fantastic steak 'dropped' underneath the table. We would definitely return here no questions asked. Thanks for a lovely Sunday lunch.
