The Cornish Pantry in Cornwall

The food was very nice however we ordered 3 rounds of sandwiches and a portion of chips and was kept waiting 1hr and 15 mins!!! We was told they had some staff issues today, but reading all the reviews it seems it is not just today at all!!! It’s not because they are very busy either as this was not the case. I will probably not bother again. It’s such a shame as it’s always been a great place to visit.

Was really looking forward to a father's day breakfast treat as my son had heard good things about the food here. On arrival there was a board stating that there was a half hour to one hour wait. We had tried to book a table but were told that it was not possible. We were unsure what to do when we arrived but worked out that you had to wait for a table to become available then pounce and then queue at the till to place the order. This we did and were told that the wait was 1 hour. We had our 9 week old grandson with us and had just about enough time. We were served drinks at the till so spent some time drinking those. We waited for an hour and a half and unfortunately our grandson woke so we had to leave. The staff were polite when we ordered but became quite rude when we asked for a refund. The whole place could do with a shake up and install a proper booking system to help plan the delivery of the meals which I am sure would have been fine.

Food was excellent and the service was very good and friendly. We loved it that much here that we drove several miles nearly every day of our two week holiday for their lovely cooked breakfast or delicious eggs benedict. We're going back in July and the Cornish Pantry will be our first eating place.

Over an hour wait for a simple meal, after being told 30 minutes- on enquiring how much longer we were told another 15 minutes!Shocking customer service.
