Turned up on a Bank Holiday weekend with no booking. They managed to accommodate 7 of us (and a large dog) in a private room for dinner. Food was great and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend

I cannot believe anyone could give this superb tavern anything less than 5 stars! Even when unbelievably busy the staff are polite, friendly, helpful and totally professional. The food is excellent and our room was really comfortable. Great atmosphere, brilliant location. It's a five star plus from me.

We spent a brilliant night here! The food was perfect, the cocktails were even better, our room was amazing, overlooking the sea. The weather was horrendous and stormy which somehow added to the experience and made it even more special. We will be back

Food was excellent! Fresh fish with mashed potates and vegetables were very tasty! Cheesecake and the clotted cream were delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Had my first meal, what can I say but absolutely amazing, the squid was the best I've tasted to point that I had two and mussels were out of this world. When I return to Penzance this is the place for me to eat at, the staff were amazing.

We turned up as a table of 4. Chap behind the bar was friendly efficient and helpful.Fish was all fresh and the food in general was all very good. The absolute star of the show was the blonde young waitress. She was bubbling with enthusiasm fantastic personality and an absolute credit to the place. We were there on Saturday 12th March. We will definitely be back on our next visit from Brighton.

A great pub right by the Penzance harbour. We ended up there during a sailing trip, and the Dolphin was recommended to us by the harbour master... and it was a great recommendation! We stayed there for dinner and all enjoyed our meals. I had the Hake, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly too - well, this is Cornwall so not too surprising! 😉 - and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

A recent celebration meal at The Dolphin Tavern confirmed that they are still one of the best places to eat in Penzance. Good service and relaxing surroundings. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always very enjoyable. We had a lovely evening!

06/02/2022 Stopped off for dinner, smallest roast dinner I've ever been served in my life. My friend had a decent sized roast beef but my was tiny. £3 each for a tiny tea. In total £32. Certainly not good enough value for money

Highly recommended this pub/B&B, an absolute steal for the price. Better service than most 4/5* hotels, friendly but not intrusive, drinks were replaced as soon as they were emptied, food was delicious, perfectly seasoned, came out quickly, desserts were incredible. Staff were busy but incredibly efficient and attentive. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options and the menu was well labelled for allergens. Views across the working harbour from our room were a delight, and despite being on the main road, noise was not at all an issue. Could not recommended more, just stay here if you want a classic pub stay experience.
