The Engine Inn in Cornwall

Lovely pub. We just had drinks. Good outdoor space in a beautiful setting.

Made to feel very welcome, really nice cornish pub and the food was very tasty

Unfortunately didnt get to eat in here. Entered during quiz night or bingo... Can't remember what the barman said but it was packed full of people, food service had ended early that day and it felt warming and welcoming. Unfortunately we came on the off chance without a booking for food and got unlucky. Looking forward to going back, will plan soon.

What went wrong, fish and chips isn’t difficult, but the fish was burnt, and the beans still frozen. Adding insult to injury VAT was shown at the at the end of the bill not on the item, which contravenes the law.Fire was kept going by beer mats, but offered little heat. Range of beer a cider had nothing the could not be bought anywhere in the country.And a stinking £18.50 for a bottle of Jack rabbit red £6.50 in shops.Cant say it lived up to the absurd comments of best pub in Cornwall etc above.We saw 3 couples and a family come in for a meal but left without eating.Menu isn’t what is shown on websites, no ribs left etc etc. We just became increasingly depressed, why did we stay, we were spending the night in the car park. An dreadful cold evening, indifferent staff, and terrible food.

What can I say about the Engine Inn it’s a fantastic pub that does the most amazing food. Mark is behind the bar with the lovely barmaid Anna they really do make you feel so very welcome. You won’t see to much of the chef Jon but if you have anything to eat you will taste the best home cooked comfort food around. The bedrooms if you stay are out of this world with views that are just as spectacular all in all a great place to visit and your first visit will not be your last. Enjoy this great pub I did.

Lovely place, lovely food, amazing breakfast, and lovely owners and staff. Oh, and it is super clean!!What else can one ask for? Good parking to stay overnight with the rental motorhome, easy to get in and out... and an easy to use water point to top up!!!Definitely recommend.Thank you all at the Engine Inn👍 👍

Lovely what I call oldie world pub set out in the western Cornish wild countryside. Excellent pint of Sharps Atlantic ale and good choice of white wines for the wife to enjoy. Menu excellent Roast meat choices. Staff friendly and helpful 👌. Covid safe a bonus. Clean toilets.

Wow! What an amazing little pub. Staff were friendly and so helpful and the atmosphere was fab. I wish we had pubs like this closer to home. Thank you for your help and support today! A five stars from us!

Traditional rural pub. Good size car park and beer garden with a small play park. Good hearty food with enormous portions! Recommend the ribs or fish and chips. Cosy feel to the inside and beautiful views.
