Good friendly staff in a pleasant country pub. Service was good so why only four stars? The food was ok but a little pricey for what was served up. Worth a visit but l wouldn't rush back

The food was brilliant and I couldn't fault it at all but from some of the staff members it felt a little bit cold. As we came in we were seated and it just seemed as if my family weren't welcomed by some. There was a lovely young lady who quickly made us feel welcomed and I can't fault the mostly quiet atmosphere, just the quiet staff.

All I can say is wow! Such a beautifully decorated place, restaurant and the rooms. We were so brilliantly looked after in our weeks stay. The food was exceptional, especially the haddock special and the cheese soufflé.We were greeted by Jill who was so warm and welcoming, our room (Room 1) was lovely and cosy, with great amenities including homemade biscuits (lovely touch!). The bed was very comfortable and made for a great nights sleep after 3 courses. It was my birthday on the Sunday we were there, after chatting with Kevin about this we came back to two homemade cakes with a ‘Happy Birthday’ note attached which really made my day.All in all, possibly the best bed and breakfast we have had. We were made to feel so welcome, it was lovely chatting to Jill in the mornings during breakfast and also during the evening.Thank you so much for such a brilliant holiday. You should be proud to own such a beautiful establishment!

Went for Sunday lunch. Very nice staff. Covid measures in place. Food was excellent, perhaps a few more roast potatoes/parsnips would have been nice. Very tender roast beef.

This establishment is quite unusual. It is a country pub, very welcoming, friendly and yet professional. The restaurant area is an informal affair but with a lovely ambience. It is nice that there is an adequate but not massive menu - this always indicates that the food will be fresh and not frozen. The food and service were excellent, the food is far far above the standard you would expect from a country pub. The chef, Kevin Viner, takes excellent quality fresh produce and makes it into wonderful food. On top if this the personal attention you receive, not only from the owners but the waiting staff is excellent. The food is price fairly, and there is an excellent wine list on offer. A lovely experience.

Disappointing, we’ve been looking forward to coming here & booked well in advance. Social distancing very poor, we were back to back with neighbouring tables. Orders accepted for mussels as main courses but then as there weren’t enough mussels x6 scallops added to what were essentially starters portions for 3 adults . Mussels were very small & flavourless. My daughter had plastic in her fish & chips, the chef apologised & said probably cling film but eyes weren’t what they used to be....Not overly welcoming, definitely wouldn’t go again especially during these times.

Lovely food at the Falmouth Arms courtesy of Kevin Viner. Scallops were amazing, and the main fish balti tasted as great as it looked. Lucky to have this as our new local 💖

Stopped in after a walk and had a wonderful warm welcome. Wished we had stayed for lunch as the menu and food looked stunning. Lovely atmosphere and beer good to boot although drank out of a glass.

I have never been treated so badly and this is the first time I have been thrown out of a pub. this is what happened.Arrived at 6.30pm for a simple pub meal. The staff were frosty and unsmiling. The pub was almost empty. Looked at the menu and there was only one vegetarian option which was unappealing, the dishes were also twice the price of other pubs in the areas. We told the waitress we would just have a drink as we have decided not to eat. She said that was ok.Things then quickly began to escalate . A lady came up to us and said that we were sitting at a dining table and preventing others occupying it. The room was empty. Then a chef burst out of the kitchen, holding a tray of tomatoes and lettuce, he shouted that if we did not like his food we could go, but to be fair he did say he would cook us something else. The atmosphere was unpleasant so we declined. We were then told to leave immediately, before we had even finished our drinks. The Fawlty Towers of Cornwall. It was meant to be a lovely family meal, my daughter was too upset to talk about it. Appalling service, avoid.
