The Fireside & Terrace Restaurant at The Cove Cornwall Hotel in Cornwall

Booked for 2 nights at New year 21. Booking was cancelled day before with full refund stated. Today 21/1/22 still had no refund despite email replies claiming payment will be made. No answers on the phone either. Stay well away from this place as bunch of thieves!

Booked a room with friends for NYE 2020, and new lockdown rules were implemented, so could no longer go. Emailed to request a refund or possibility of rebooking another time, and received an email saying the latter was possible, just to email or call. I have left over 10 voice mails and have emailed every month since March, and have heard nothing back. Tried calling on another phone to see if they blocked my number, but seems to be a consistent issue. If there's even a slim chance you might need to talk to someone about ANYTHING here, don't bother booking.

A series of badly run down apartments, all in need of renovation / make over. It’s also in the most remote, boring, amenity free place you could ever hope to find. Think “deserted island”.If you were on the run, this would be the place to hide out. There are no other people or places of interest for miles and don't worry about the staff telling anyone where you are: there are none, well not that I ever found anyway.We arrived and it was getting dark, the directions we were given to check in were wrong. When we did find what we needed, the receptionist wasn't there and we had to wait for ages until someone showed up with a key and a mumbled set of instructions on where the apartment was located... These were again wrong.The apartment was at the top of a steep hill, so steep that that car wouldn't have made it in bad weather. At the top it was so dark we couldn't see anything and nearly broke our legs trying to negotiate the stone steps down the bank into the apartments.Once inside, contrary to the website, we found a run down, damp smelling apartment that was in need of a refurb. The bed was so hard I had to fold a double duvet over and sleep on that - even then the mattress was ridiculously firm and I could only sleep for 4 hours on it.We saw no staff for the entire week, save for the reception man and we had to buy our bin bags to dispose of the rubbish the previous guest had left in the apartment.Not my idea of a luxury holiday at all.

We stayed here for three days and upon arrival we were super pleased with our apartment, it was so spacious and we loved the rustic, beach vibe it had. The view was amazing too and the hidden beach walk was beautiful. The host was really understanding and polite too. Unfortunately the only downside was that the pool wasn't heated the days we went and so we never used it, but this is minor in the grand scale of things as this place was perfect and we would definitely stay again!! Highly recommend for people who would like an ideal nature getaway in Cornwall. Thank you x

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They have ignored emails and letters requesting a refund that THEY promised to give us (we didn’t ask) after giving us an apartment that wasn’t cleaned properly and leaving us with no alternative accommodation. The cleaner / manager / owner (depending on which day of the week you spoke to him) was rude and intimidating. We thought we’d be supporting a small business by staying here rather than a chain hotel but I will not make that mistake again. I will be pursuing my refund and even if one person decides not to stay here after reading this review then this place will have lost more money than what they owe me! I think they have forgotten that the customer is king!

our 2 bedroom apartment had about 10 spiders. When complained, the cleaner said "its normal to have spiders". The receptionist agreed to give us a full refund . This was 4 weeks a go and still haven't received anything. They do not respond to any emails nor there is any phone number. Very poor, avoid this place at any cost.

Worst apartment ever, had bugs and spiders all over, wasnt cleaned properly and smelt weird, when we went to complain the owner was very rude. He offered us full refund but we got nothing back yet, no replied to emails or texts, and they have been ignoring us. Still waiting on 500 pound refund which i dnt think we will get, so disappointing. Please avoid and never book this place.

Lovely stay. The outside needs some tlc. We stayed in Apts 14 and 6. Both are huge. The former has a garden and lovely views (would be even better if the hedge was cut), the painted floor is worn in places and smells a little damp and could do with extra cupboard to put your food in but we still really liked it. Apt 6 is better equipped and v smart but doesn't have the views or outside space. The staff especially the maintenance contact couldn't have been more helpful. The pool is fab. Lovely location. Can walk along coast path directly from Well lane . We booked with the early bird discount so thought the apartments with pool offered fantastic value for money and flexibility if however you are paying £200plus a night expecting prestine accommodation you may be disappointed.

Enjoyed our stay at The Cove. The Lamorna Cove Hotel has a fantastic view of the cove directly from the poolside with a five minute walk down to the beach.The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven, hob and microwave. The shower was nice and hot with good pressure.Slightly out the way but if you are looking for a quiet time with family and friends this would be the right place for you. Good for the price.

Worst experience ever , avoid at all costs!! I rarely write reviews but this deserves one. I visited The cove last summer and it was a very nice hotel with charming location. Me and my partner decided to revisit for our 3rd anniversary trip. I booked two nights a month prior. Money was taken from the account. On the day of booking my partner realized that we haven't received confirmation of booking . He tried to call multiple times within their normal working hours - no reply. He wrote an e-mail - no reply. We decided to go as the money was taken, so we drove all the way from Bournemouth, after work, Friday evening, in the rain and fog. Once we arrived to the hote there was no one, we tried calling their emergency number multiple times with no answer. We needed to find emergency hotel in Penzance which was very expensive but was the only option available at 2 AM. This ruined our anniversary trip, I was anxious and crying, worrying that that we may need to drive all the way back to Bournemouth in the middle of the night. This happend on 22nd of May. My partner tried calling + sending more e-mails since. We still didn't get any refund or even an apology. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
