Looks nice from the outside but the food we had was awful.I had roast beef, the beef was so dry I could of stiched it together to make a shoe. The roast potatoes were soft and had no crunch the veg was OK. My wife had the potatoe skins and recived one half of a medium potato with a bit of cheese and bacon and soft skin. My son had the childs roast pork and the pork tasted like it was out of a packet. All I can say if you like to eat a high priced microwave meal then fill your boots

Beautiful historic building but general decor quite dated and disappointing appearance on entry. But don't be put off, the meals were large portions of well cooked food. Esp. Liver n bacon and beef stew that we had, but roast looked very good too (at present 2 for £23). Although no signs, I asked if I could bring in a dog, which I was told OK if its quiet and stays under the table😁(not a problem for mine) thank you!

I used to really enjoy going to the Golden Guinea over many years. During the COVID times they had a reduced menu going, which manly consisted of burgers. Pre COVID times they offered a brilliant range of offerings on the menu. Used you really enjoy their scampi and chips. Visited today 19/03/22 and was looking forward to scampi once more.Looe was extremely busy due to the fine weather and managed to grab a free table thankfully, but my high hopes were soon dashed to find very little choice on offer from my past experience. Saw the portion sizes and they also reduced now. Prices seemed more than before and yep no more scampi on the menu. Had a bowl of chips and a coke instead and made up my mind that I'd never be going back. Real shame as it used to be probably the best place to eat in Looe. The staff have always been very nice and friendly, the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Hoping they will take note of people that are willing to leave their feedback.

Disappointed. Used to be a firm favourite of ours but food quality and portion size has gone downhill. Not worth the money anymore. Other options in looe may be marginally more but certainly more satisfying. Not sure if this is due to it being out of season, but hope they turn it around soon.

Visited Looe today and we wanted some where nice for lunch. We stumbled upon this little place and it was fab.We were seated straight away and the service was quick.I had roast beef and hubby had the fish. Both meals were amazing and such good value.I'm pleased we went in now!

Over priced un flavoursome food, wine tasted watered down, felt like cheap cafe food.setting was nice and the staff were friendly, kids meals were terrible

Nice little find, outside garden was a surprise with an bar 🍸 Limited menu outside and served in like a shoe box very different. A few steep steps to climb to reach the top but worth it

Very affordable, very decent food. Excellent and friendly service from our waitress Jasmine. Loved the decor, only downside was we wanted to sit outside but got told there's a separate menu for the garden. Overall very lovely though and I'd definitely come back.

If you are looking for good, home cooked food at a great price then this is the place to be. We was looking for a place that had a roast dinner on a Wednesday evening in Looe’s and just got lucky with the place. It’s a short walk from the car park in the town. The staff were very friendly & service was a reasonable waiting time considering how busy it was. Very happy family, it’s a 5 star review from us!!

Service was great to start with but faultered after. Felt safe inside and covid secure.Food: starter was pate which was warm and runny and very unpleasant and the prawn cocktail was a pile of tiny prawns with a tiny pot of sauce on enough salad to feed Cornwall.Mains: burger and chips was ok, kids burger and chips consisted of a massive bun with a tiny burger. Liver and mash was a triumph to be fair but the lasagne, despite clearly home made, was dry and tasteless.Cracking pint though 👌
