The Golden Lion Hotel in Cornwall

Stayed just around the corner from here so popped on for some lunch on a Friday.Staff were attentive and helped us find a table as we had our dogs with us.They then took our drink orders quickly and followed with the food.Both drink and food were good and the pub is a lovely place to have some food.

The golden lion come highly recommended by friends and family and didn't disappoint, very good menu the service was fast and polite and the food was great. Also lovely views of the lake

Didn't actually use the pub, stopped on their caravan / camping site next door.Wouldn't recommend, the free WiFi wasn't available at all during our stay, and the electricity supply is nowhere near sufficient enough, only 6amp.The fuse kept tripping out.Had to turn TV off to boil kettle and could not run caravan heating at all.Most we could have on at one time was fridge and one light or fridge and TV.Supply upgrade urgently needed.Also very dark as only 1 out of 3 security lights worked by toilets.And only 2 unisex toilets and 2 unisex showers for whole site.OK for a one or two night stay but wouldn't recommend for any longer than that.Plenty of better equipped sites around that area for a similar price.

Emma and her team are fantastic with a nothing too much trouble attitude, my family and I have visited many times and its always been faultless. Also has a wonderful play area for children. Don't forget to book at busy times to avoid disappointment.

Super Sunday lunch, I'm gluten free and vegetarian so struggle. Gluten free nut roast, delicious. One member had fish and chips looked beautiful. 2 people had roast. Lovely food, masses of vegetables. Service was excellent with great friendly staff. A definite to repeat.

We were a party of 9. All meals were pre ordered. All there for 7.30. first lot of drinks arrived fairly quickly. Starters at 8.30. second round of drinks some waited over an hour. Main course was plated but not that hot on arrival. Veg portions were small. Dessert eaten at about 9.45!! It was not busy so not sure why there was such a wait between courses. Food nice but not worth£35 for a Christmas meal.

What a bloody lovey pub/ restaurantI had the ribs and wings and my Fiancé had the streak!! Food was excellent and fiancé said coleslaw was the best she’s had and that’s a compliment for sure. Staff are very friendly, bar selection is great and to top it off it’s dog friendly as well 100%👍 from us

The food was great!The portions are huge!!I would definitely recommend the food here as it’s cooked fresh, it takes a while to be cooked but it’s definitely worth it so please be patient with the staff as they’re all absolutely lovely and very helpful.Definitely a plus that it’s 🐶 dog friendly.Definitely recommend

lovely setting, with a camping site attached. Good selection on food and drink, I highly recommend the steak pie.

We were 3 adults and a kid, arrived at around 630pm to check if they could accommodate us, and yes we got a table in the sun! The garden is really big and very pretty. You have a view on reservoir and you have protected kids area with bouncy castle and playground. It has covered dining area too in case of a bad weather. As we attended this venue last Sunday menu was limited (around 3rd of whole menu was available) . We had fish and chips, sweet and sour chicken and Sunday roast, all dishes were very decent size and full of flavour.
