Very welcoming staff. However having eaten at many award winning restaurants and having read previous reviews I was a little disappointed in the meal itself. There was nothing about the taste that leaped out. I couldn't honestly say wow that was fab. With the addition of dogs being allowed in the restaurant area was not sadly impressed. The prices were very expensive for what was served. No problem paying for special occasions but sadly the food was not memorable.

This was the best pub food I have ever had! We enjoyed fresh fish, local ales and a relaxed environment - thank you

Loved the ambiance, relaxed and friendly. The food was excellent. This review would have got five stars had it not been for a large chip out of the rim of the main course plate. This would not have been an issue had the waitress not argued the point when this was pointed out to her. The statement and I quote, “it makes it all the more rustic” was in my opinion inappropriate.

Top quality food- this place is a little bit remote and not cheap but the service was excellent and the food was perfect. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. Excellent - I would highly recommend.

Despite its hideous external paint this is a warm and welcoming hostelry with a great beer garden at the back. The menu is a bit fancy for me, but different strokes for different folks, and plenty of people seem to make a beeline to eat here.

Really nice short stay. We had a lovely meal (lemon sole starter and beef main were amazing), bed was very comfortable. Breakfast with countryside views

Beer & service is great. Out for day climbing so rocked up in dirty, chalk covered clothes in what seems like a fancy pub but staff are really accommodating. Beer is cracking.

After one of our regular beautiful windy walks we decided to pop in for a swift drinkypoos before heading home and unfortunately we were greeted by a very pretentious man who served us drinks… insulted us for asking about the price difference between a single or double by saying ‘we dont encourage that kind of thing in here all prices are the same’ WOW! We sat by the wonderful little fire (which was the only warm thing about this pub) only to listen to the sound of cutlery clanging away as a member of staff was drying them and putting them away… surely this should be done before you open?? The other staff seemed friendly but there was no atmosphere & i feel this place is trying to be something that it is not… such a shame as its a lovely pub with beautiful views… in future we will be carrying on to zennor to the tinners, fab pub!!

Table for 2 for my birthday lunch. What a treat! Such welcoming, professional staff, stunning food (brilliantly catered for my vegan needs), glass of fizz on the house, a truly wonderful experience and memory. Thank you!! 😊
