Restaurant clearly making too much money as they turn people away even when they have plenty of free tables. Unaccommodating, lazy staff

Well what can I say, what a fantastic meal we’ve had tonight at The Mex in Saint Ives. I can honestly say this is the best Mexican I’ve ever had and quite possibly the best meal I’ve had in Saint Ives! The food was absolutely beautiful and very flavoursome. Me and my party shared the nachos to start and we all agreed that they were the best nachos ever. They were covered in cheese and chilli and were so tasty! For mains we had burritos and fajitas and again they may have been the best we ever had! The service was top standard from the 2 ladies who served us, they very welcoming, attentive, friendly and professional. Infact we enjoyed our meal so much we’ve booked again for tomorrow night! If you’re reading reviews to see if you should visit or not, then take it from to get yourselves down there!

Absolutely delicious!If you know how Mexican taste is, then you are safe here.I would just take off the pomegranate seeds to be 100% more Mexican but I feel it gave the colors for the dish.Staff is friendly and lovelyWe had take away and the packing was great!We will come back

It was only after I'd ordered that remembered I'd been to The Mex before and thought it was very average. I'm a bit disappointed that Google didn't tell me I'd been before! 😆 Wasn't terrible, but certainly a long way from great. People around us seemed to enjoy the food. As I write this their average Google review is 4.7, which surprises me a lot, but I guess in many ways good food is subjective. Margarita was average too.

Super friendly waitress that made our dinner so enjoyable. They accommodate for all dietary requirements. The food and drinks were so tasty I can't wait to go back!

The Mex has long been one of our favourite restaurants, and whether we dine in or takeaway, everything is always spot on. Delicious food, a wonderful atmosphere and absolutely fantastic service! Highly recommended if you're visiting St Ives!

I'm use to actual Mexican Food being from California next to Mexico so this doesn't cut it.At no point is chilli mince nor pomegranate seeds acceptable in a Burrito. NOR POTATO WEDGESBut for locals who wont ever get to have Authentic Mexican food, this may work for their taste buds.Host is amazing and very polite.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have had in the UK. Price is reasonable, but the portions are both filling and tasty. A hidden gem is St Ives. Loved the caramelized sweet potatoes.

This is our 3rd visit to the mex and it never disappoints !!If you like Mexican food it's a must in fact if you like food it's a must !!The prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly and efficientI had the loaded nachos to start best I ever had in sooo long and the meat quesadillas for main with a side of refried beans bloody lovely and all washed down with a jug of mojito 🍸Fantástico !!
