👎👎👎❗The food is a RIP-OFF, and totally BELOW-PAR.For £24 for ALL main course meals, I expected at least reasonable quality and flavours, instead we got 2 little 2inch diameter pieces of pork on a leaf of cabbage and some hash brown thing. The pork was bland, lacking much moisture and the crackling was lacking flavour. The chips were well over salted.Only gave 2 stars because the waiting staff were nice and good at their job. I only hope the fact the owners rip you off for £24 a meal, & sdd a service charge on, that they pay the staff way ABOVE the minimum wage!AVOID if you like your food to taste decent and if you like proper sized portions of food❗

Great spot, amazing staff and really delicious meal. The food was really good and offered slightly different takes on some lovely courses. Would certainly recommend for a drink on the lovely terrace and a tasty dinner if you’re in Mousehole, or nearby!

Beautiful situation , lovely garden with access to the beach , food good but not worth the price tag, service appauling considering a normal restaurant experience you would expect not to have to get up and order your drink at the bar(3 times). Ending on a positive the verdant beer is exceptional.

Outstanding hotel. Very warm and professional greeting on arrival. Large bedroom (14) and large bathroom (bath, separate shower and wardrobe), and small balcony with table and four chairs. Friendly service throughout. Very good food. Spacious dining area and bar. Terrace and garden overlooking and sloping down to the sea. Five minute walk to Mousehole. Car park large enough for residents with some free on street parking nearby and also some paying carparks. Highly recommended.

Not made to feel welcome and food was cold. Having stayed here before I hoped it would be a lovely treat to have Sunday lunch. Sadly we were sat at a table at the back with no light. Apparently if you want a table near a window you book three months in advance.Very slow service too which maybe why the food was cold

Called in yesterday for a drink whilst out with the dog, what a fantastic place, really lovely staff very accommodating, I remember how it was about 20 years ago.Would highly recommend food and restaurant looked fab, and you have the most beautiful garden backing down onto the sea.Really lovely place to spend some time.

Very warm welcome, great views over to St Michael's only fly in the ointment the table hadn't been cleaned bits of cake and sticky surface , shame, also ladies toilets no soap or hand lotion bottles empty , it wasn't busy so no excuse really.

Sometimes you'd rather keep a favourite place a bit of a secret but the Old Coastguard Hotel at Mousehole has been through it over the last few years so I felt I had to share. With a fire that saw it close for almost 2yrs then, just as they were due to reopen, a pandemic shut everything down again. I love this place for its fabulously friendly and professional staff, for its relaxed vibe, for being totally dog friendly, for its gorgeous locally sourced food. The breakfast table alone is a joy to behold when you come down in the morning. Lots of walking, Newlyn down the road with its fish market and an excellent art gallery. Penzance only a gentle 1hr stroll along the front where you can dip at the Jubilee Pool, enjoy some really surprisingly good architecture alongside some excellent independent shops and places to eat. Good luck Old Coastguard for better times ahead and thank you for giving us a very relaxing few days as always.

I went for a reservation at their restaurant and it was pretty busy but nonetheless a really nice place. Despite their food being good, the wait time was especially long and we sat there for an hour plus waiting for food. The staff were very friendly though and helped accommodate our needs despite the very long wait. I would recommend making a reservation beforehand because it could get really busy quick!

We stayed here as a small respite during the festive period and it was wonderful. We got a very warm welcome when we arrived and the customer service throughout was spot on. The room was super comfortable, the only niggle was the mirror on the bathroom door made the additional Christmas weight gain look even more pronounced (at least that's my excuse). Dinner was amazing, we both agreed the pork belly and black pudding starter was possibly one of the nicest things ever! Breakfast was great too, cracking selection and made to feel like you're just having breakfast at a friend's place. The restaurant also makes the most of the epic views out over the water. Overall can't wait to come back and couldn't recommend it highly enough.
