The food was delicious. The staff are so friendly , warm and welcoming. They treat the dog as well as they treat the guests. Nothing is too much trouble Beautiful setting and very comfortable beds. Debbie and Paula. ( AKA Rattler and Pinot. )

Beautiful location, lovely atmosphere and setting. The food however was very poor quality. My vegetarian dish (which was a plate of grilled vegetables for £17) was so salty I couldn't eat it. The panacotta was flavourless and jelly-like. We enjoyed our evening despite the food being disappointing and over-priced.

Great Pub loved it! Staff have a great sense of humour and very friendly, food was superb. Very atmospheric pub built in the 14th Century so steeped in history

Always find this lovely pub "by mistake"(!!!) when on holiday. Friendly welcome. At the bottom of a steep valley, accessed by narrow roads. Go on, treat yourself, it's all part of the adventure!

Only stopped here for a couple of drinks. Basic but nice to find an old-fashioned proper pub in this valley with excellent beer from the local Tintagel brewery.

The rooms are definitely quirky and there is no lift, but my goodness the food is delicious. We made a last minute reservation and were delighted to find that we could get dinner too, but were expecting the usual pub food. This was gourmet cooking and presentation and even the breakfast the next morning was as attractive as it was tasty.

We are booked in for a few nights. Very quirky and delightful place. Room is cozy and well equipped. Dinner was amazing. We had some bread served with flavoured butter, for a starter. My meal was corn fed chicken breast with a buttery sauce. Black pudding in breadcrumbs, little potatoes, a bit like had browns, but much smaller and delicious. Our desert was chocolate brownie, with raspberry sorbet, and honeycomb pieces. Fantastic. Rounded off with coffee. Highly recommended.

Very run down, dirty rooms and hotel, food ok, staff are lovely but our room was filthy, carpets not even fitted, curtains hanging off. Over priced for what it is sadly. Also bad smell of sewers in the bathroom and outside the hotel. Needs a lot of love and attention spent on it.

A lovely stop over hotel to visit. Warm comfortable rooms which were clean. Fantastic food available at reasonable prices. Will return
