Gem of a pub off the beaten track. Awesome food, great service and a lovely warm atmosphere. Had a stunning lunch here today Will be back. Many thanks

We came to the Rising Sun for a birthday meal. It certainly did not disappoint. The first thing we were greeted with was a bar with a great atmosphere where we had a relaxing drink before going through to out table.Once at the table we were given a small, but we'll chosen menu and details of the catch of the day. We both went for the rib eye, but cooked differently. Both were cooked to absolute perfection! The seasoning was so good that I did not want to put my sides on the plate as they would change the flavour.Sadly we did not get to try one of the puddings as we were so full from the mains.I think it says a lot about a restaurant when they are all but full on a Thursday night!

We loved every bit of this place. Tom is a very likeable guy and his establishment was at the top of all the restaurants we visited during our week in Cornwall. Keep up the good work.

Excellent Sunday roast lunch for Mother's Day. Perfect in fact - lovely meat, really well cooked veg, plenty of it, excellent + v friendly service, lovely environment. As good as it gets, highly recommended.

First time visiting the rising sun this evening for a meal and wow! Absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and service. Honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. I will be back soon, often!

A lovely interior and atmosphere and absolutely superb (if pricey) food.I had some stonking homemade bread, followed by a scallops-based starter, a loin of beef main course and a chocolate fondant for pudding. Normally I can't manage three courses but the portion sizes are perfect (and I hadn't eaten all day).

Well just had Xmas lunch! and despite reviews I can say it decidly average.Starter was mussels, plenty of them and quite tasty. Mains, roast beef, now this is when I was quite disappointed. Beef was thin strips, well done, possibly packet, certainly not carved from a joint, roast potatoes, hard under cooked, possibly frozen packet jobs, tasteless, plenty of other veg, generally undercooked! Sweet was sherry trifle, but no sherry, cream tasted odd, was it real?On the whole service was good though. Would not recommend! From what I had, but was not paying so ok ish.

Best meal in Cornwall, by far! Attention to details, balanced flavors, great wines and service. Thank you guys!

Food was amazing! Really wasn't expecting it to be so good! This pub has won awards for their food and they have a lot of gins! The staff are so lovely too!

Visited this pub for the first time for Sunday dinner. Best mussels I have had in a long time for a starter followed by hands down the best roast diner I think I have ever eaten. Will definitely be returning.
