Thank you Bruce and Vicky for a very special evening! Your restaurant is without a doubt the best in the area. The fish was unbelievable and we loved all the wines that went with it. 5 stars. From Will, Will, Ellie and India

Good heavens. It's hard to find the appropriate superlatives to describe this experience. There are no choices - that in itself is rather wonderful. It is a lot of money, but you soon realise that it is not expensive. This is eating at the hand of a chef who's at the top of his game, creating the very best combinations of the very best foods available, and everything is very local.Choose a fabulous bottle of wine.Eat slowly.Savour every mouthful. Then start saving for your next visit.Thank you to the enthusiastic chef Bruce and his excellent assistant. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and we will be back.

If you want to add something special to your holiday this place ticks all the boxes. The food is great the chef has a wonderful enthusiasm and the service was excellent. Also the restaurant has a cosy vibe with great music. And not at all pretentious. The only shortfall was that the main course was luke warm as the plates were not hot enough and as this was the best monkfish I've ever tasted this was a shame.

If you are coming to Penzance, don’t miss out! We had a fantastic experience at Shore. Not your usual restaurant with the chef a one man band and greeting you bare footed for your meal, but what he cooks up is incredibly tasty. We are in love with the wasabi sorbet! Everything is very fresh and from local producers. The wine pairing was very nice as well. All in all a great evening, we will definitely be back!

This is what a dining experience is all about. A chef who is passionate about cooking great food for people in a small and relaxed environment. As a meat fan coming to a fish restaurant with a set menu I could not see before we arrived filled me with slight anxiousness about what I would enjoy. On entry it was obvious The Shore was something different being greeted by owner, chef and bottle washer Bruce Rennie who's enthusiasm was clear from the offset. Inside there were just 5 tables ranging from 2 to 4 places. The tables were a work of art with wood and blue inset reminding us straight away of the nearby sea. As the menu changes daily based on what is fresh I won't spend to long on that but let's just say it was a delight to read. Before we started Bruce came out and explained what he is doing, why he cooks what he does and why the wines were chosen. For each of the 4 courses he gave a passionate overview of the ingredients included, what the inspiration was for the dish and the palletes of the wine and how they worked with the flavours of the dish. The food was amazing as was the wines but what makes this place so special is Bruce. After the meal he spent time ensuring everyone had enjoyed the meal and looked for any feedback. We were lucky to be the last table to leave and got to know why he is doing this rather than working in large top end resraunts as he has during his career.Book early to ensure enjoyment.

Phenomenal experience! Bruce was very informative about the ingredients in the dishes. The flavors were magnificent in each course. I could really see that Bruce put his heart and soul into each dish. He had fresh fruit and vegetables into each course from his garden. He even said that the fish was the best of the best. The desert was splendid. It was good to know that the food was fresh.

As a trained chef myself, eating in any restaurant is a bit of a challenge as I'm constantly looking for faults and missed bits. The Shore does not disappoint!Every single course was presented well and carefully explained by the team. The cook on every dish was perfect and even though my girlfriend is a pescetarian we were graciously catered for by the team and one of the courses was adapted for her dietary requirements. I could not fault the flavours delivered to us. All local, seasonal produce from organic farms too. There was just the right amount of food served, our set menu was 4 courses, we couldn't have fit another mouthful! The dishes were attractive and didn't have the super pretentious aesthetics that usually come with this level of cooking. Every element was well thought out and added to the dish.We opted out of the paired wine flight but chose two from that list and they were super tasty!Bruce, the owner/chef both greeted us on arrival and chatted to us at the end of our meal and made us feel right at home. He even courteously listened to some additions I cheekily suggested to a couple of the dishes ;) our waitress was lovely and super warm and welcoming. The perfect end to our stay in West Cornwall, definitely be back the next time we're this way

This stunning restaurant must be the best in Penzance. A tasting menu based on seafood demonstrates the talents of a superb chef. Service is excellent and if you are a wine lover then a wine flight matches a different wine to each course. Booking essential. Highly recommended.

This is one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. You get a set menu of 6 dishes - small plates that are beautifully presented, inventive, delicious and delicate. You can choose a bottle of wine or have a glass with each dish chosen to compliment the food. I would have given it 5 stars if some of the dishes were just a little more of a mouthful. Not for those who prefer an all you can eat kinda place.

Hidden gem in the southwest England. So glad we came. We had the 7 courses tasting menu. It was absolutely amazing experience with highlight followed by another highlight. The food has complex layers of different flavour and texture, with influence from various cultures..Japanese, Chinese, Indian, South American, yet surprisingly beautifully blended together. My personal favourite is the strawberry desert with basil sorbet..impressive piece of art. Thank you Bruce!
