Pub is ok. It's only that my old man drinks here occasionally. He's a bit nuts. Tells folk I'm an addict! With his codeine collection in his cupboard lol.

A well run pub with nice beer food and people. The staff and spritely landlord are a joy as are the local folk who imbibe at this fair establishment - Oh! and the foods great.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch and was disappointed. Roast beef was covered in thick black clots and most of the vegetables were unrecognisable. I opted for the mixed roast of four meats, but was served three, very thin and poor cuts. The young girl serving behind the bar used foul language while I stood to order, not a good image. Shame, it used to be better.

Good service and really friendly member of staff. Sorry we were disappointed with the Steak & Ale pies we ordered ~ thick undercooked tough pastry (was pretty grim). Contents of the pies were fine. Guessing, the pastry was microwaved?

Dropped in for a glass of wine and a pot of tea, spot on. Very friendly and efficient, interesting outside spaces 😎 I recommend it. The menu looked interesting too.

Macaroni cheese tasted like it was out of a tin, no actual melted cheese on top. Comes with chips, so a very incipid looking meal with no garnish for colour. Tasteless, left half of it, won't be going back!

Absolutely cracking country pub with great beers, good service and an impressive outdoor seating area. I mean any country pub that serves fish finger sandwiches washed down with a good quality beer straight from the pump while sitting in a comfy seat

Been coming to the star for years, used to be such a lively locals pub, so welcoming and friendly. But we won't be going back, terrible food and even worse service. The busiest season Cornwall has ever seen and it was empty. Now we know why..Such a shame to see a local go downhill and not value their customers. I will follow the locals next time and go up the bird.

Um. Someone is a good photographer. Website doesn't really reflect the experience. Long wait, garden untidy, furniture sticky inside, very wobbly outside. Staff were distracted shall we say by other things. My wife was ignored 4 times by staff as she stood at the bar. Food was poor. Pizza OK everything else was very average. Thankfully this was reflected in the price. I ended up thinking damn! good potential must try harder.
