Wayside in Cornwall

Whilst the food is good our evening was ruined by the restaurant manager overdoing it with his ' I tried to contact you to confirm your booking but you didn't respond'. My wife booked the meal for our son's 18th for a table of 7. We can only find one email from the day before but my wife doesn't check that email all the time. I understand that restaurants have concerns over no shows but we were never going to be one of those. I called enroute as we were running 10 minutes late, this is where it started. An edge to his tone as he seemed put out we didn't reconfirm our confirmed booking. When we arrived he then immediately continued his issue with my wife over not hearing from us. His manner was completely out of order and but for the difficulty for us finding another table for 7 at such short notice would have left there and then. I chose not to escalate the conversation (as much as I felt like it) as this was Infront of other guests. I'm sure other people will have a better experience as he may have just been having an off day but we will not return.

Superb, everything was amazing. Went for an early birthday treat and couldn't be happier we did.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal at Sea Fever restaurant last weekend. Every single course was exceptional, and the service was impeccable too. We were so pleased we found this place and would love to return next time we stay in Bude.

"Sea Fever" restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel Bude is truly a gourmet revelation!!The menue is varied and extremely well balanced with choices of fayre and prices to suit all who venture in, and venture in you must. My beautiful wife and I enjoyed a perfect 45th wedding anniversary, not only as guests at the Atlantic Hotel, but also, to be honoured in enjoying the most perfect food sensation we have ever tasted; all produced by Kyan Hooper the head chef, not forgetting of course, the most attentive restaurant staff and Hotel proprietor who delivered this incredible fayre making sure also, our special event remained most enjoyable.Thank you so much to you all, you made a mature and romantic couple very happy.

Really great food, and lovely staff! Went for a celebration dinner and the staff were so lovely, the fish was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend!

My husband and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary whilst on holiday near Bude. Lovely atmosphere and great service. The food portions were too small, it was quite pricey and they did not offer any lobster or crab dishes - very disappointing.

Fabulous meal. Restaurant was understated and very comfortable. The food was outstanding. We had mussels,scallops,hake,lemon sole ,assorted cheeses and a salted caramel chocolate dessert. The service was excellent and we'd highly recommend the whole experience.

The most wonderful experience from start to finish, the food was incredible ( We had the oysters then starter: crab, squid. Main: hake and bream) and it was so fresh and delicious, beautiful food!The service was also second to none- catering for my dairy intolerance and being so friendly and welcoming- no ask was too much! Cannot recommend this place enough. When we are in the area we will most definitely be back. Thank you so much again!!

Such a wonderful, delicious meal! The chef is very talented and we had excellent service, and felt completely spoilt. Everything was perfect, the mussels with cider and tarragon was amazing and our main fish courses were excellent.What a great find, (although we got lost finding it!) I would very highly recommend this restaurant you won’t be disappointed!!!

When it's the end of the season, and lockdown restrictions have tightened, you kind of expect everywhere to just give up and say "no, we're closed".Not here. They fit us in, and then gave us the best meal we've had all year. It might sound a bit gushing, but really. Fantastic food. Friendly and fast service, and we've booked again for tomorrow night.Maybe they don't want babies like that other review said, but I didn't want mine there tonight, and I was grateful nobody else did. There are 20 other restaurants in Bude happy to take families. Let this be the one that allows adults to act like kids again and have a good time. I had a good time, and I'm going back.
