My favourite fish and chip shop in the whole of the UK!

·

Amazing tasty fish and chips, kids meals fantastic sizes and choices

Brilliant, understated little place with a fab gluten free menu, and Coeliac UK accredited. My partner is coeliac and coming to Cornwall out of season always makes things a bit trickier as places shut early or slim down their offerings. This was a great find. All the staff were lovely but a special mention to Will.

Excellent service. Great, simple food. Felt really welcome and was exactly what we needed after a long day of walking. Would visit again

We arrived for our holiday at Waterside Holiday Park at around 7.30pm. After unloading we decided to get fish & chips. The welcome stranger is just that a place that welcomes you in. The staff were accommodating and helpful as well as polite. I was told to wait in my car which I did and they brought it out once ready. It was delicious.

Absolutely amazing best fish and chips I've had in a while! I can't have normal fish batter and 9 times out of 10 the gluten free batter is made with rice flour which for some reason doesn't agree with me. So I chose this restaurant as they do a steamed fish option but when we arrived the man who served us actually said the gluten free batter is made with maize flour which I can have hooray! Hence why I am raving about this place, lovely atmosphere and nice little restaurant. I'd say book before you arrive as it's busy because the food is so tasty. My boyfriend had the normal battered fish and chips and said it was also the best as well. Definitely recommend and can't speak highly enough of how friendly all the staff were. Also there's parking on the front and a few spots round the back but can be tight and full.

Best fish and chips I've had for a long time. I went for steamed fish and didn't regret it at all. Deserts are huge! We were staying a few miles away on a campsite so opted for the restaurant rather than takeaway. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming.

Our group had fish/scampi & chips. The meals were hot, and served promptly, but they were very tasteless. It was edible, but I would not go back. Service was unfriendly too with our waitress, although the other waitress seemed friendlier. Cod & chips was £9.50 sit in, or you could have sauce, bread, and a drink (tea/coffe/fizzy drink) with it for £11.25 ("evening set").

Best fish and chips ever. Crispy, generous portions, eat in the restaurant or take away. Such lovely staff, fabulous mouth-watering puds too. You just feel compelled to order before you eat anything, in case they are gone, so good are they. Licenced, and a great pot of tea, kids portions, vegetarian and gluten-free options, alternative menus, Newspapers, local brochures, WiFi, and a family atmosphere. This has it all, with locally sourced potatoes and some gorgeous desserts baked on site. Delicious! Enjoy.
