Xen noodle bar in Cornwall

Food was lovely but cutlery was filthy, had to send a drink back as the rim of the glass was also filthy. Went to the toilet no toilet roll or soap, had to ask. Staff member sat around on there phone watching videos or playing games very loudly. Didn’t have what we wanted do couldn’t get a starter.

Great atmosphere, tasty food, helpful staff. We really enjoyed this place, the owners recommendations were the best... The ribs were excellent. We all had noodles of different kinds, he even changed a menu item to accommodate our request!Missed out on the Korean barBQ, but we'll be back in May when it starts again...The main entrance is level and accessible, the second door could open for a wheelchair if needed. Disabled toilets available as well.It is obviously a well used establishment and you can tell. It could have been a little cleaner, with more care taken in general, hence the missing 5th star from this review. Otherwise a great place. Didn't get a chance to try the cocktails or wine bar, but that just means we will come back again! 😁

We ordered around 19.30 and received the food at 22.30 after calling them 3 times, 3 hours of waiting!!. Some of the food presentation was not good and oily, the vegetables didn´t look healthy and the chicken tasted funny. This has been our last attemp, as we liked ordering from here before but we have had enough. Very bad service and they charged us £8 for delivery and 50p of service fee. Do not bother.

Ordered at 6:20pm, food finally arrived at 9:20pm after ringing 3 times for updates. It wasn't worth the wait. The squid and the chicken starters were a cold floppy mess and went in the bin. The mains were mostly rice with a cold splattering of sauce. It wasn't cheap either, £40. Will not be ordering again

I thought I'd try something different, so have a wonder around and came across Xen Noodle bar. I walked in around 7pm and the restaurant was empty. This should have been the first warning sign. Then as I was waiting to be served, I looked to my left and there were two women sat and the bar drinking, with their kid sat on the bar. Behind them, it looked like they'd turned part of the restaurant into their own personal living room... boxes of nappies, empty coke bottles, rubbish. It was bizarre. Second warning sign. I waited about 30 minutes, not too sure why. I was the only person waiting when I arrived. Whilst waiting, I asked for a can of coke, the woman behind the bar had no clue of the prices so asked the two women sat at the bar. They weren't sure either, it went from £1 to £1.50. I got my food, returned home and opened my order. It was wrong, Xen noodle special turned out to be the xen rice special, but I couldn't be bothered to make a fuss over it at that point. The sauce was of a grayish colour, which didn't taste particularly great. The beef and chicken were bland and chewy, the king prawns I avoided. I also got a side of steamed bbq pork buns. Mostly dough, barely any pork and again, bland. I probably ate a third of the meal and binned the rest. What a load of rubbish. Will never be returning.

Food tasted alright. Chicken was hard as a rock. Some of our plates were chipped.

A lot missing on menu. Wasn't as fresh as expected. What we had tasted OK and price was cheap so couldn't complain. Service was excellent

Another fantastic meal with the family.Beautiful Mongolian lamb.Huge tasty prawns.Our daughter loved the bubble tea!!Everyone really enjoyed their food! Best noodle bar in Cornwall.

Completely ruined grand daughters birthday. 8 people 5 starters 3 were wrong. 8 meals 6 were wrong. The few that were correct had no cutlery. We are still waiting for napkins. Other guests were leaving before or after their meals were served. 40 minutes wait for drinks. Could be lovely if there was some sort of organisation. When we got food some was good some not so good. Overall wont be back.

One of the worst takeaways I've had and I rarely write a review but felt I needed to. Not only were the portion sizes ridiculously small (epesially the sides), but there was also zero flavour. The sweet and sour chicken was dry with hardly any sauce and no flavour, the egg fried rice was just boiled rice with egg no flavour. The beef with black bean sauce, which they call beef steak was unbelievably chewy, I would call the prawn toast just toast for its lack of prawns and the fried squid was as bland as the rest. The worst part of this whole experience was the price which was far higher than your average takeaway which would be l fine if you got better food but not for this. The only saving grace were the prawn crackers that were exceptional.
