Lovely and cosy, very friendly staff, very good value for money. Excellent food, piping hot. Went twice while on holiday. Prawn Cocktail was the best my mom had ever had :)

Firstly I would have liked to comment about the food, which looks fantastic, hence why I called in today with my wife, 5 year old daughter and my French bulldog. The time was 15.30, a man who in fairness was friendly and explained that food would start back up at 17.00 and welcome to have a drink whilst we wait.which I was prepared to do until told that the dog was ok, however as I had a 5 year old, who is well behaved, a table would have had to be set up in the back room away from other diners. Please don't see this rating as quality of food, it isn't and I would have loved to taste it. It is a rating against the fact that a dog can sit in the main dining area but a 5 year old couldn't, sorry as a parent that is not acceptable.

Although there are many restaurants in Looe we notice this one when out and about in the town, and it appeared to look very comfortable. We decided to eat there last night. I phoned ahead to ensure they had a table for us (2people) and our small dog. The booking was taken by Ruben who was friendly and efficient. When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by Lily, again extremely friendly and welcomingWe ordered drinks, starters and main courses, all were very tasty and well presented. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and we throughly enjoyed our evening. Overall a great experience, well done and a special thank you to Lily and Ruben.Date of visit: March 2022

We come to this town year on year one or twice every year. Tonight for the umpteenth time we booked into Ye Old Salutation Inn for something to eat. Never been treated so disrespectfully in all the times we have been! Arrived in good time, 6:30pm for a 7pm booking. Ordered a couple of drinks, sat at out table at 7pm prompt, had to go to the bar to order another round! Be assured they we not bust by no means, by this time another table that arrived after us had been served, still no attention, my partner went to the bar again to say nobody had been to serve us. 7:30pm a walk in arrives and are ushered to a reserved table that had not turned up, 2 mins later waitress straight over with menus and takes drinks order. Still no service. I approach the bar to pay for the two rounds of drinks, no apologies or nothing just a straight ypu owe £17! No acknowledgement as to why we were leaving! Absolutely shocking service, avoid at all costs if you want decent service

Wonderful. Last night on a trip to Looe in the middle of winter, desperate for food. The only place serving was Ye Olde Salutation Inn. And what a relief it was! The food was fantastic, I had a Jalfrezi curry, and my partner had some kind of Cheesy Broccoli Bake. Succulent, tasty, good portions, great service from the staff. The sponge pudding is out of this world. The decor inside for Christmas was enchanting too, what a magnificent effort. Hope to visit Looe again soon.

We went in without a booking and found the gentleman at the door to be extremely helpful and friendly.. he managed to get my wife, my dog and I a very nice table.. and the food and service was so good we booked a table for our the last night of our holiday.. The second meal was even better than the first..”real” soup..( without ginger or fruit in it..) the worlds biggest prawn cocktail and phenomenal main courses.. too full to sample the puddings..! Wonderful end to our holiday.. Please thank all the staff for their amazing service..!

Huge portions!! Recommend the cheese salad but it's Huge!! Lamb hot pot is average and fish and chips is lovely. Cider here is great too :). Takes a while to get a service here too though, but staff are polite.
