Fine, good food, service fine, pub is a bit tatty round the edges

When we asked about food we were told they were all fully booked and not taking anymore bookings. Not long after us another couple came in and a different member of staff told them the kitchen had just closed.They were good in telling you where the next pub was that was doing food. Which was very good for food so thank you for that. As we will be going back there again.

Booked in today and the pub seemed half empty. However, in fairness with warning from the manager, service was painfully slow and we had to keep chasing staff to order . Food once arrived was of a good quality, but in fairness I wish they stopped taking more people in as the service just wasn't good enough. 3 hours for 2 courses and 2 rounds of drinks...Update: tried to email the addres below but the email is invalid.

Not our first time coming, but first review. Really enjoyable meal, the staff were very helpful and kind. Food was lovely too, which is the most important thing!Knocked a star off only for the amount of time we were left waiting for the bill but it was busy so we do understand. Everything else was spot on though and we'll gladly return in the future. Thanks for a great time.

Can't believe this is now a Green king pub, such a shame to see, what was once a fantastic place to go, is now just like any other big brewery pub, gone are the days of home cooked pub food and real ales. On a lighter note, staff are super friendly, service was great. Place was almost empty by the time we left a 3:30pm on a Sunday. Such a shame. 😟

Saw their welcoming blackboards from the road, inviting us in for brunch from 9:30 till 11, had tried to book en route but the website stated that bookings weren't taken for brunch....So we arrived to an empty car park, starving and ready to eat.On entering we were met by a member of staff who explained to us that they were only taking bookings for brunch as they only had one chef 🤯

Only had a drink there so no idea about food but really nice pub, felt cozy despite being quite big. Vety friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly with bowls, treats and blankets for them.

Didn't book but got a table for us with no problems. The menu was adequate although we needed our torches on our phones to see it as very dark inside!Had the cod and chips and lasagne which was lovely, even managed the sticky toffee pudding afterwards.Good food. The service was slow as we could only see one person taking orders and serving, but they were busy.Would recommend this place.

Really good lunchtime stop. Very impressed with the 3 course dog menu and service overall. Will definitely return again.

Within easy reach of Cirencester, Cheltenham & Gloucester, well worth the trip out into the nearby countryside.We arrived around 5pm & pretty much had the place to ourselves.Staff where all friendly & got.seated quickly. The food where good portions & my mixed grill was well cooked, the meal was steak & red wine pie.Followed up by a Eton mess& a mini pudding with coffee.The pub has loads of history, lots of snug areas & a real.wood burner in the bar area, so great.on a cold day & they're dog friendly.Outside there are different seating areas to the front & rear, with a kids play area to.the rear. Also plenty of off road parking.Would recommend & they also dona 2/3 course meal Tuesday to Thursday after 4pm, which is a selection of courses fron the main menu & great value for money.
