Lovely tea room. So lovely that we ate here twice, once indoors and once outside. The treats were just to tempting. Lovely building and great atmosphere.

Really enjoyed the food which was the cheese scones and cakes (coffee walnut cake and Bakewell tart). The teas (Assam and Darjeeling) lacked flavour...not sure what brand/quality tea bags they used. However I would highly recommend the food!

We were incredibly impressed with quality of food and very tasteful interior style, so were extra disappointed when the service was so poor! Only two members of staff struggling to keep on top of all of the tables between them and seating countless new customers and without dealing with existing ones. After we had enjoyed our lunch we decided to order a drink and piece of homemade cake but never got to as we sat in front of our empty plates for half an hour before realising the only way people were managing to get the attention of staff was by forming a queue at their small till point. Having joined said queue to pay I was asked to bear with them a minute as they tried to work out which tables had been updated on their system, so sat back down and made friends with the two ladies next to us who were equally as confused that they had walked into such a lovely establishment but been left waiting with closed menus for half an hour. If they’d just had another two people serving and been a bit more organised the whole experience would have been a solid five stars so hopefully this situation was just a one off!

Love this place. Great for a quick bite before or during lunch time. Really good coffee and cakes too. Staff are always really helpful and there's normally a big team so you get served quickly. Recommended sitting outside in the rear courtyard if it's a sunny day. Also recommend the smoke salmon and scrambled eggs or bagel with brie and bacon.

Hand down the best tea room around. Incredible staff / so attentive. Food is AMAZING- softest cakes and scone, lovely sandwiches. Can’t wait to go back

A cosy café with a good selection of cakes and a variety of options on the brunch menu. We visited for brunch and had a cheeky (delicious smooth) cider and (pleasant hearty) stout. Toilets are at the back and just outside the café but were nicely done-up. Highchair and baby changing facilities both available.

Food was satisfactory. Atmosphere calm and relaxing however service was extremely poor, greeted at the door by a young woman with ‘ sit wherever you want ‘ and almost aggressively being given the menu’s as she walked away immediately. As we ordered drinks we we’re served dirty glasses in which I asked politely for clean ones, I was told sternly by the same woman that it’s ‘PROBABLY just water marks’ and then proceeded to have to wait ten minutes for the replacements, by then our food had arrived and we we’re left without a drink to go down with our meals. However the older gentleman who said goodbye was extremely friendly and was greeting other customers with lovely manners. Perhaps the other staff need to take a leaf out of his book!!

A bit disappointing to be honest. It was cold and damp outside and the same inside. Fire unlit. I was cold from the minute I walked in up until we left . Is there any other kind of heating?. I didn't feel it!The door was almost constantly open, which did not help, and it squeaked all the time - it needs some oil. {You might find the cobwebs when you do that!}Coffee and food were OK, as was the service... nothing more.It could and should be inviting, and warm. It wasn't.It just seemed a bit tired. A shame , as it looks really nice.

Great atmosphere - interiors, log fire, friendly and attentive staff, dog friendly. A great outdoor area for the warmer months. We only had a coffee and a cake - both of which were delicious. Dairy alternatives available. Altogether, a very enjoyable stop at the end of a day of walking. Would definitely recommend.
