Not good for people who are familiar with Indian food. The chole had no zero gravy, was a dry chickpeas bowl. The aalo gobi was somehow stripped off its natural gobi taste also and was terrible. The naans were digestible. Perhaps good for people who like bland flat food.

Veg stuffed paratha had raw patches. Veg pulao had no sale, and the tadka dal was undersalted. The mushroom bhajee was the only dish that was nice

I’d give the meal overall a 3.5 if I’m being honest, but I’ll rate 4 instead of a 3. They unfortunately don’t serve chips, they do some sort of potato though. Onion rice was nice, as was the pakora. Chicken Balti was decent, nothing major though. The chicken was nice, but the actual curry/sauce there wasn’t much of. Very friendly guy at the door who served too

We always have great takeaways from the Bengal Lancer. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating, and never kept waiting.

Don’t really understand how anyone rates this place! I still go quite often (it’s convenient) in the hope the food might actually have some flavour but every dish you order tastes the same and the meat is always dry or chewy. Continuously disappointed.

Very nice Indian food. The dining area appears small but it easily held a party of 15 and a party of 12 and still had some tables for addition customers. The food was great, everyone was more than satisfied with the quality and quantity of each dish (not swimming in oil). The restaurant is not licenced to sell alcohol however customers can bring their own with the restaurant supplying the glasses (and Cork screw if required). All in all good food, good service and a very pleasant evening.

It's not your typical Indian restaurant. It's quite small, the walls are very plain, painted magnolia, with few decorations, so very basic. There was no music playing in the background either, so not the ambiance you usually get in an Indian restaurant. But the place was full (it was on a Wednesday) so obviously a popular place to go.The food was very nice, the service was good. You bring your own wine or beer so it makes it a relatively cheap evening. No frills, but if you're going purely for the food you won't be disappointed.

Great food, great service! The quality of the meals was very high - nice meat, big serves, lovely naan. We found our curries sweet so maybe ask for less sweet if that is your preference (we had ordered mild dishes). The service was quick and polite and offered everything needed.

Nice food in a cozy atmosphere. Not licensed so you will have to bring your own alcohol to drink with your curry. Extensive menu. Good take-away service too.
