A great place to stop and grab a bit to eat. Plenty of parking. Stunning building and the café is beautifully decorated. Staff were friendly. The only thing that let it down was no breakfast option. Food was good and had a nice bit of shortbread there.

Worth a visit if you've got time to learn some historical events about this prison. Nice cafe and exhibits. Entrance is free but contributions are welcomed as it is maintained by a group of volunteers who are dedicated to create awareness of the historical past of the old prison.

Popped in for. Cuppa tea and a cake on our way home. Friendly staff and gorgeous cakes.. interesting visit around the prison. Would return again for lunch.. smelt delicious.

Nice place with a reasonable choice of beverages and food (snacks).Unfortunately I felt my service, although pleasent enough, and everything else taken into account it did not warrant the prices charged.

It was really interesting to witness this part of human civilisation and how they have managed to maintain its charm. An old prison converted to a café, serving delicious lunch and tasty cakes, is worth the visit. It is possible to visit the original prison cells at the backyard. And do visit the town center, walk around the beautiful streets and so on depending upon how much time you have. I recommend a visit to this beautiful AONB.

The food was lovely and it was great for a sunny day, lots of families around. The prison brunch bowl was great. Would probably rate food 5 but the queue was very long and service slow, dirty plates not being collected due to short staffing (they were doing their best but need more staff!).

Interesting location made better with the on site museum, courtroom and prison cells. Great service and even better food. Slight disappointing layout as it was a bit tight to walk around and get seated. I'd recommend a stop if you're passing and we enjoyed the seasonal drinks. Plenty of parking

Only stopped by for a drink. Interesting location, very bright and airy but warm in winter. Could perhaps do with a bit of an update to the museum aspect but the cafe is nice and the outside area pleasant to look at.

Lovely place to have a nice coffee. Also had a soup which was very good. Prices very reasonable. You can also visit the Old Prison. It is succinct and probably very different from what it was at the time but it depicts some interesting facts. I also enjoyed looking at the agricultural tools and carriages of the 19th century which are exposed in the courtyard.
