Daneway Inn in Cotswold

Although not open at the time a friend of mine emailed them to ask if we could park in their car park and they said we could and it was nice of us to ask. We would have booked a Sunday lunch if they had been open. Although we've booked in the past and the Sunday lunch was excellent...👍

Wonderful, cosy, traditional pub nestled in the valley with just sheep and horses for neighbours. Must be tough keeping going through the pandemic. A real find

Brilliant. Visited with two boisterous little boys for Sunday lunch and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more understanding. We ate our delicious food next to a roaring fire and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Thanks guys!

Fantastic lunch at this stunning village pub. Warm welcome friendly & helpful staff, the whole experience was delightful and of course the warm autumn sunshine was a bonus. Well worth a visit and the cost of a taxi fare if a few beverages (of which there is plenty of choice) is your tipple.

The food is good without being outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. None of this is relevant, because the pub is in one of the most beautiful valleys around, perfectly situated for a break on any excursion near Sapperton. This is an absolute must visit if you're nearby.

Lovely location right next to Daneway Bank, the home of the Large Blue butterfly and many others.Nice pub but very expensive if you drink halves! The beer was £4.70 per pint....but £3 for a half!! I had two halves before I realised and when mentioned to the landlady she reduced my bill, reluctantly, stating the reason to be due to Covid rules.. extra washing up, table service etc.I made sure she realised how cross I was. If a pint costs £4.70 then a half should cost £2.35 NOT £3

Amazing pub!! Brilliant find in the middle of picturesque countryside. The chef was AMAZING, photos of Salmon Languini and freshly baked chips to follow. The campsite is not advertised but a hidden, brilliant find! Ask at the pub for details and to pay, fires were allowed, good shower and toilet. We will be back again!

I grabbed a latte to go from their outside shack before setting out on a walk, which was delicious. The shack staff were very friendly and gave us information on several options for a walk. We also had a reservation for lunch for after we'd finished walking. The pub staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The tables outside were spaced out nicely and it wasn't over crowded, they had large parasols too (perfect for this beautiful British weather!). I ordered the fish and chips which is one of the nicest I've had. Light, crispy and perfectly cooked fish, hot and not greasy; with really tasty chips. It was very reasonably priced and I would most certainly recommend to others, and would return back myself.

This is a hidden gem. Tucked away in a secluded Cotswold valley this old tavern sits on the former route of the old Cotswolds canal, now long redundant, but accessible for a very pleasant walk via the pub grounds. The pub is steeped in history and looks the part, with think white washed stone walls and low ceilings and large fireplaces. I visited during the restrictions of the Pandemic, and like everywhere else they've had too make a few adjustments. The landlord and landlady and other staff are all very pleasant and service was good. Food was decent and as was the beer, no complaints. Decent, simple food cooked well.
