After a very lovely experience partaking in one of the creative classes offered, we made our way to the Ox barn restaurant (because we waited in the baa bar where there was no service). We were very hungry and looking forward to some lovely nibbles and drinks. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with what we received. We ordered the cheese platter, meat selection and a gin & tonic. The cheese platter was very sad to say the least, there were 3 small chunks of stale cheese on a white dinner plate (which was a weird choice of presentation), the meat (salami and ham) was on an even smaller white dinner plate and was all together served with 4 soggy biscuits…We had to order more biscuits. The gin and tonic was ordered and we had to ask about 3 times before it was finally brought over (after 15-20 mins).Lastly, all together the small platters and drink cost much more than what it was worth. Therefore there was no value for money :(Overall, the look and vibe is cool and we thoroughly enjoyed the creative classes, the food was super disappointing.

Beautiful place to get away from the busyness of the city. The hotel is part of a very small town and the staff can tell you all about it.The room was nice and cozy. The restaurant was exquisite and the chefs are very nice. They also have a lovely boutique where you can get toiletries of the brand they use in the hotel and beautiful silk pieces.

Amazing, peaceful and beautiful place. Great and lovely service. It is located in a very beautiful village, with beautiful landscapes. It's worth walking around, it's really beautiful, there aren't many options for restaurants outside, but the few are good. I highly recommend.

Our first 'thyme'. Only dined but the food was excellent, good quality and portion size. Wine list a little expensive. Staff and service perfect. Planning a return ASAP.

Underwhelmed and disappointed. We stayed for our honeymoon and chose to start with a couples massage in the Meadow Spa which was a lovely way to start our break. Unfortunately this was the highlight and the rest of our experience failed to meet expectations. The hotel imposed a minimum 2 night stay but many of the facilities are closed. The Baa Bar was unstaffed during our stay and the Swan Inn remains closed. This meant the only place available for food and beverage was the Ox Barn restaurant which lacked atmosphere. Despite knowing about a food intolerance from time of booking over 5 months ago they were only able to offer me a very restricted menu choice. The menu was unchanged during my stay and I was offered the same very restricted food choices on my second night. The food itself was certainly nothing special and the substitution of a cold salad on my plate as the vegetables could not be done without garlic was a strange flavour combination with the duck. The room we stayed in had an uncomfortably soft bed. The bath only produced hot water if the tap was turned on full. There was no adequate lighting in the room to shave or apply make up. The walls were very thin and we could hear people in the adjacent room. Both myself and my partner experienced skin irritation whilst staying here which seemed to resolve when we moved to our next hotel. The restaurant for breakfast service was woefully understaffed with only a restaurant manager and a single other server visible on both days. Despite ordering the same food on consecutive days there was no consistency as to what actually arrived.A few days before our stay the hotel asked if we were celebrating anything and I advised them we would be on honeymoon. The only acknowledgement of this was a handwritten note on the bed .Thyme seems to be more interested in its social media profile and developing itself as a lifestyle retreat. It has failed to get the fundamentals of looking after its paying hotel guests. Thyme failed to offer any value for money nor the luxury experience we had been led to believe it could provide. On check out no one even bothered to ask if we had enjoyed our stay. We couldn't wait to leave when we should have been left wanting to stay and book for our anniversary next year.

Absolutely amazing Birthday lunch. We were served by Emma, who was beyond fantastic!! Food not only looked phenomenal but tasted exquisite. Thank you so much Emma - we'll be back soon, next time to stay!

From the first moment we walked in and were greeted warmly by Paige and Tim, our stay was utterly divine in every sense of the word. Our bags were taken to our room for us while we were shown around the property by Paige, who's wealth of knowledge of the property made our tour delightfully informative.Jordan made sure our time at the bar was well spent, creating some wonderful cocktails for us and spending time chatting and getting to know us.We felt like Thyme managed to make us feel like guests and family at the same time, which is very hard to get right.Dinner at the restaurant that evening was wonderful, we felt very looked after and the food was beautifully fresh and locally sourced. The next morning Paige was able to give us a great walking route to take including a stop at the Victoria Inn for lunch.I cannot recommend this place enough, especially for a couple looking for a romantic getaway that combines intimacy with a welcoming, chatty atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

A perfect stay from start to finish. The location blew us away and the customer service was faultless. The attention to detail from the spa, the restaurant, greeting us with champagne upon arrival to the beautifully manicured grounds was impeccable.Every staff member that we met are a credit to Thyme and made us feel very welcome and part of the family. We cannot wait to visit again.

Very grateful that the staff went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We stayed during the week when they were a bit short of staff but the hotel was so thoughtful about it and made sure they kept the service level up.We loved everything at Thyme, the environment was so peaceful, a perfect place to get away from the current wfh dreadful situation! Our room was so nicely decorated, we loved the little garden with the fire pit, it was the best place to chill out after a filling dinner. The food was also amazing, we were super well fed during our stay. Don’t forget to check out the farm of the estate and the boutique as well!

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Cozy room in interesting hotel. But the best part was the food. They only had 4 mains per day so you know everything you get is the freshest possible. The walk through the countryside was beautiful. We ended up having lunch at The Vic pub, it was very nice lunch in a peaceful setting. The church on site is worth a visit especially if you catch a tour/history lesson from the church warden who lives next door to the church!
