We had an incredible evening here, and so glad we booked it for our first night in Stow on The Wold. The service was amazing, all the food was delicious and there’s so much choice that there will be something for everyone. Service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was like nothing else. We sat in the covered area outside, and although it was a very cold February evening, we were nice and toasty. Being offered a hot water bottle was a nice touch. You won’t be disappointed by this place! Worth a visit.

I'm sold on this place and it demonstrates the success of hard work. First visit today and I'm booked in again already. What a fabulous menu, variety with execution to match. Lovely buzzy, casual atmosphere enhanced by friendly and experienced service. The lobster mac and cheese was so decadent, it made me giddy😄 I can't wait to try some more dishes from this hot hot menu. Thanks team

Quality meals with friendly staff. Good menu for all tastes. I always find something and I'm a coeliac so no gluten. This visit I had fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. Absolutely loved it. Cooked to perfection. Thank you old butchers.

Our family (all adults) dined at Old Butchers Friday evening. We are all seafood fans, and as a native of Boston, Massachusetts, I am both crazy and particular about my seafood. I’ve lived in England for the last 22 years, but it’s taken me until now to find a home away from home for seafood. I had one of the lobster dinners and I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. Lobster is quite easy to under or overcooked, but mine (and the others at our table) were perfectly prepared, seasoned and served. Every part of our meals were excellent, and the service was attentive, efficient and personal. We all enjoyed every part of our meal at the Old Butchers. We live almost two hours from here, but we’ll be back. Highly recommended!

Excellent restaurant in Stow. Calves liver was great, as was the medium rare ribeye. Despite the meat dishes we had, menu actually has mostly fish which the rest of the party of 8 enjoyed.

Food was OK - although probably not quite the high-end cuisine they're aiming for, or pricing at... minor details like burnt crusts on the bread, an overly charred bun on the burger etc, which for the price, you'd expect not to have to deal with. Service was polite enough, although a little amateurish with young staff in need of a little bit of training (a fish restaurant, yet not knowing what moules were and someone hurriedly clearing the table before all diners had finished) - just little things that add up ro the overall exoerience, and all easily cleared up/trainable, but it's why I can only give 4 stars not 5

Amazing food for reasonable price. We went there around 6:15pm on a Saturday, it seems without a booking it's quite impossible to get seated, but we just wanted to eat something quickly so the waiters were super kind and we got a seat until 8pm. The tuna and steak tartare were absolutely delicious, the same can be said about the seafood platter, it was one of the best I've ever eaten. This place is a must if you are travelling to Cotswolds, but book in advance for sure.

Food is excellent, and most of the staff were brilliant. However, only one person taking the orders meant we waited a long time to place our food order. Food arrived quite quickly though and honestly worth the wait.

Awesome food, awesome service. We were sat promptly and the manager was very understanding despite us arriving a tad late (we called ahead to inform of delay). We were lucky enough to catch a last minute reservation and it was explained it would be on the terrace. The menu here changes depending on the produce which is what makes it so interesting. We started shared a Fritti platter of mixed tempura prawn, squid, sole and monkbeard accompanied by a garlic aioli. I believe the aioli was made with olive oil and was a lovely accompaniment for the perfectly battered tempura - crispy crunch but light and the proteins were just the right texture. This was followed by a whole Dover Sole ala Meunière. Buttery fish topped with a generous amount of parsley and a hint of acidity from lemon shining throughout. Another perfectly cooked dish, fell of the bone like butter. Then came the 900g T Bone accompanied by a green salad with shallot vinegarette, and possibly the best French Fries I've had in a long time - perfect golden brown with a lovely crunch. We chose the peppercorn sauce and couldn't fault it (I tasted a hint of mushroom in this). We ordered medium but in hind sight should have ordered it medium rare. They show the rested steak to you before sliced on to individual plates as it is meant for sharing.Pudding came in the form of a Tonka Bean Pannacotta with strawberries (fresh and dehydrated) and a muesli-like mix. The 2nd pudding was a walnut and chocolate fondant with a salted caramel filling - this if I may say is to die for.Prices are on the higher side but is definitely worth it for a special occasion.Would not hesitate coming back (driving all the way just for it) when the occasion presents itself.Kudos to all at the establishments for making it to the Michelin Guide 2021.
